If there was a football transfer market, Galvin is the first player I'd want Jimmy Staunton to bring to Mayo.
Who would the other 14 be? ;) ;)

GAA Discussion / Re: Your Favourite GAA Images

Have to say, thoroughly enjoyed browsing through these images. Excellent variety with a great range across all counties. Is Niall McKenna ready to step up to the 'MARK'. Judging by the repetition of 'that image' many users, myself included, clearly believe his is the most outstanding mark/catch. Maybe in a few years time Mickey can change his midfield tactics, which have served him well to date, to suit this promising talent. Keep the images coming!! I'd upload some myself if I knew how!!! Any advice?

Tore my cruciate ligament several years ago. Didn't realise what had happened for about 2 years after it. Football career, now that's stretching it, was over anyway due to age. Received physio and decided not to have operation as two mates went for op. and had to have it redone!! Really put me off. Was advised that if I could live with it better not to go for op. as rehab is tough. Now have to be really careful when playing with kids, especially when turning quickly and placing my weight on right knee as I know it would 'go again'. Pain in the arse!!

Thoroughly enjoyed watching these clips. Some fantastic scores and passages of play. No doubt the '05 & '08 finals were the pick of this past decade. If pressed for top 3 finals of decade it would have to be '05, '08 & '02 in that order. Common denominator: Kerry beaten each day by better, hungrier side!

I wouldn't think too many GAA players from Ulster would have used an oval ball. The round ball is to Ireland's advantage. The physicality permitted in the tackle suits the Aussies. While a 'free for all' can be entertaining, adds to the atmosphere/animosity, Ireland will only win playing football. Does many people really care who wins? or do we watch to see the scuffles???

Anthony should know what type of player to go for. Looking at youtube clips, physicality along with speed is a must. While Paddy Bradley is deadly accurate on his day, not so sure that Rules game would be his day. Would he have the stomach for it?

Lawnseed. Thanks for youtube clip. Forgot how brutal some of the incidents were. When I saw the Gooch I smirked when I thought of his retirement statement immediately after the game. It really is a man's game, not for the fainthearted.

Permutations for finalists and relegation this year are a minefield. Will surely keep everyone interested next weekend.

Fair fecks to Congress for predicting back last April that this rule could help Dublin get into the league final and thus a big payday for the GAA.

Although imagine the red faces if Mayo and Dublin both win their last games, and thus the new rule will ensure that Dublin don't get into the final regardless of how many points either side wins by.

Who'd be in the final if this happened?

Schools in Tyrone not closed yet. Just amazed at number of people who take opportunity to be negative about Mr. Harte. But then everyone has a go at successful people and normally back underdogs.

Ever wonder why media are so hung up on what Mickey has to say. Don't think he's going out of his way looking for these interviews. Maybe it's because they value the maestro's opinion.
