Sunday 12th December at The Athletic Grounds (ground tbc).

any one got any idea what the delay is for?

Every other year it was a panicking match to get Ulster played and now this year there is a long gap between?

I don't think any championship should be held up because of another code, if that is the reason.

I get where you're coming from but it would have been foolish of the Ulster Council not to have contingencies in place like they have if Dunloy footballers won the Antrim intermediate football championship..  ;D

but yes, first instinct is to push the hurling out to suit football.

Stiff enough sentence.

Has everything settled down after your man took a heart attack and died? A lot of them ATM robberies have settled as well....

The arrest of the paymaster is imminent

Who is the paymaster? Quinn?
Do you think Cyril McGuinness was just acting off his own initiative?

I don't know and am genuinely interested.

About 100 pages ago I addressed all that. But basically..

- Lunney and crew were happy to gain from the work of dissident and criminals who were attacking previous owners
- Previous owners left as a result and Lunney group came in. Attacks stopped
- Quinn came into the board and then got booted out
- Some talk of Lunneys gang selling out sections to competition (Quinn would never have done this)
- Attacks restart, Lunney threatened and eventually kipnapped and assaulted.

So whether the dissidents/criminals returned to be seen to protect local jobs and to garner support in the area at a time when they were trying to rebuild or whether others unknown were encouraging them is my best bet. I dont think Sean Quinn was involved in that is my opinion, not sure what his motive would be cos either way he can never get his company back.
Somehow I have strong misgivings about the criminal group having benign motives. If Quinn was not involved, then my guess is extortion was the motive behind the overtly violent harassment. These nasty criminal characters are out to serve themselves.

Was there ever a request for a ransom or money made to Lunney and Co?

Answer them better putting a bit more effort into the football rather than chasing "likes" on social media

Slaughtneil free to concentrate on the hurling now..

When do they play the Dunlodians and has Horse worked out a way round their packed defence?

Game planned for 12th December with final down for 9th January but I believe Ulster GAA are meeting to bring games forward now that there is no clash with football for Slaughtneil.

Where would game likely to be held? Semi final is usually on a home/away basis and Dunloy have home advantage this time. There was 6000 landed to Owenbeg last time they played in semi final.

Cormac O'Doherty picked up a shoulder injury in hurling final and missed the football semi and final. Would be a big miss for Slaughtneil if he wasn't able to make it.

That would suggest Corrigan Park which might suit SN as it's a tight enough pitch, with room for the forwards at a premium..

O'Doherty would indeed be a big loss for them

Watched that Ballyhale v OL Gaels final there on Sunday, the ref hadn't a pea in his whistle by the looks of it but both teams just got on with it which is admirable.

Ballyhale playing a direct brand of hurling, the traditional Cody way of forwards winning their own ball. Worked for them as the Gaels also didn't play a bank of sweepers and left too many one on one battles inside their own 20 metre line. The Gaels looked to be trying to work the ball out but came unstuck quite a bit doing so. Hard to see the Kilkenny seniors adapt for the likes of Limerick come summer time.

Colin Fennelly looks to be off the boil at the moment but it's winter hurling and Ballyhale will take some stopping.

Allison could have done a lot better for all three tbh.

Moyes a decent sort. I expect it's a blip but Allison very easy bullied there. Some other teams may pick up on that.

for the third goal someone with a greater knowledge of football is going to have to tell me what TAA was doing.

He was standing at the far post as the ball was swung in towards it and stood still whilst Zouma came thundering in for the simplest of headers..

He was either ball watching or not brave enough to go attack it and take what's coming punishment ways..

Bloody hell that is one sick individual.
Imagine how his wife must feel

The feelings of his wife hadn't occurred to me, it's more the kids he's abused and the lasting impacts that'll have on them that was the first thing to come to my mind.

If your team wins, the ref if the best in the county.
If your team loses, its the refs fault.
And thats the way it will be until the end of time

Maybe, just maybe only scoring 0-2 in a half when you have the mccans, shivers, gribben etc is the reason cargin lost? But sure blame the ref 😃
Who blamed the ref?

Its the big calls at the big times that decide games.

ARe there any games coming up in football competitions, where can you find fixtures?

Think there is a small period of time, certainly for the uni's, I've done a few games recently at UUJ. the freshers were put out by DCU the other night.

Would only imagine the schools are doing the same, cramming it in, games to be played to finish extra time of ten minutes then penalties, just in case anyone is unsure  ;)

Must be a few Mageean Cup Hurling games on this week.. Struggling to get an U17 team together for tonight.

3 games on tomorrow

You'd wonder how all those soccer stadiums in the UK cities ever managed get going

Be like Liverpool and buy all the houses round you.

But yes, when you see a lot of those stadiums planted right in the middle of rows and rows of terrace houses you'd wonder how many would be allowed under new planning laws..

Watching Vikings on Prime, enjoying it so far on season two, wife hates it, which makes watching it easier

First few seasons were brilliant.
It got a bit too long drawn out towards the end as a lot of these shows do.

Agree with that, but I think it got good again in Season 5.
Well, without giving away any spoilers, there is part of the story (maybe 10-20%) which is in Iceland - and that's absolute garbage, but the rest is really good.
I'll be starting the final Season 6 shortly.

Totally 100% right.
I'm guessing it was plugged in as there was some real historical significance.
The final season is a bit meh too. But all in, well worth a watch and much better than The Last Kingdom.

Up to season 4 in Vikings on Prime, but are there two season 4's?

Might be a stupid question.

110 is the magic number Proposal B must hit on Saturday if a league-based All-Ireland championship is to be introduced for the 2022 season.

183 delegates are eligible to vote at Saturday's Special Congress, which means either of the two proposals to reform the All-Ireland SFC must receive at least 110 votes (60% backing) if they are to come into effect from next year.

Of the 183 votes, almost half - 90 - is spread across the 32 counties. The overseas units carry 34 votes, Central Council has 52 votes, with seven past presidents of the GAA also entitled to vote.

Found the above online.

that makes sense but then you need to dig into the Central Council vote, is it a block vote based on an agreed decision or is it 52 individuals, allowed to vote whatever which way they want?

In relation to the allegation of the U11 playing at U15 level :

Under 15: A Player shall have celebrated his 11th. birthday
prior to January 1st. and his 15th. birthday on or after January
1st. of the Championship Year.

(i.e - the player's last year of U11 - so no issues with eligibility if the player was 11 before 1st January 2021).

Like myself, I'm sure quite a few of us are a bit better versed with the rules!

If a player was 11 before the 1st of January 2021 then they're not an U11 in 2021. They are fine to play U15 but not U11.
