Well for the benefit of Mayo football I hope he doesn't get a seat. It'd mean more time spent training the squad and preparing for matches. i don't think he will get in though.

I don't think either are good enough for county level either. John Brogan is a good club player but there is a difference between club and county. Casey probably is in the same bracket, I think he was given a chance already but I'm not too sure.

Tough one for O'Mahony to start off with imo. I think we will do ok, but we have to finish in the top 4 to be in Division 1 next season so it could be tricky.

]Fair play to the lads. Seems it was a very one-sided game. Howley must have had some game to deny Kilcoyne the man of the match award and him scoring 1-8.

Couldn't get to a computer before now so I had time to digest it all. I thought United had enough chances to score another one in the first half. I think a draw was a fair result. I know some people will be critical of United, but Chelsea are everybody's favourite's for the title so to draw with them isn't that bad. Chelsea could have won the game and they probably will feel agrieved that they couldn't push on for another goal in the end. I thought Carrick was brilliant in the first half. He was class at breaking down Chelsea moves and the others all seemed to be that bit better than Chelsea early on. It was kind of hard luck that Saha was in the way of VDS because he had it covered but the goal was coming for a while anyway. At least we didn't lose and are still top of the league. And I agree with intoDwest's assessment of the atmosphere of the Stretford end despite being in the North stand for it!

Best of luck to the Knockmore team this Sunday. I won't be home for it but if anyone on here is at the u-21 match fills me in on the report I'd be grateful. (Realistically this was to rescue this from falling off the radar)

I just want to pick up on rosnarun's point. Should we now expect Sam to be doing the rounds in Mayo this time next year, or should we give the new manager time to get the house in order. Everyone wanted O'Mahony for a few years now, and now he's got the job will we all want Sam straight-away? I'm of the opinion that we will have our work cut out to get back to AIfs again after the hiding we got. I hope I'm wrong though.

I'd take any scoreline of a home win on Sunday! Really looking forward to it.

Christ cicfada I hope you're right. It's a good line-up alright. The Western should be interesting tomorrow. It has wiped away the pain of getting hammered in the AIF! ;D
