Oh Lundy spend most of the match lying down / play acting, thats much a given! dont think he get much change out of Duffy whos got the speed to match him

Lundy wouldn't be great at defending either, but then again, you Derry lads probably guessed that already.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

QuoteIts a more important game for Derry, they need the win more than Galway. Another Derry championship loss and McIver's reign has been a huge disappointment.
I can't agree with that statement - how is it more important for Derry? Galway need a run bigtime. We have been in one quarter final (last year) since 2008.
The fact that this is Kevin Walsh's first year as manager is irrelevant.

A loss wouldn't be the end of the world, at least we can take something from this year whilst a defeat for Derry would mean another poor season and they've regressed; It would mean no progress in 3 years of championship football. Our players have shown signs their getting to grips with the modern game. We might have got to a quarter final but only because we drew Tipp, if we had played Armagh, Cork or Monaghan we'd have been beaten comfortably.

I think its very relevant that its his first year and its McIver's third year. You need a year to change things and coming from where we were it was even more difficult.

We both desperately want the win and I'm confident we'll get it.

Galway folk / those in the know... Is there an alternative route to Pearse avoiding the town and the mad crowds this weekend?  (both car loads of Derry supporters would like to know  :))

You could wait for the Galway bypass to be built, or use one of these
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

Not until the Galway bypass is completed unfortunately. Just have to give yourselves plenty of time. The city will be absolutely jammers on Saturday.

Galway team is as expected, Danny Cummins proved a point when he came on in Armagh. No harm to him but Denvir just isn't inter county standard, the amount of times he gives away possession is criminal. Lundy will be playing deep again by the looks of things, I'd love to see him allowed to cut loose in the inside forward line but I think this is his role on the Galway team for the foreseeable. Big games needed from all forwards, We all know at this stage Comer is going to be well marked and seen as Galway's danger man, time for others to step up. Roll on Saturday!

Unfortunately as GBB says there's no way to avoid crossing the city to get to Salthill unless you get the parachutes out! Just give yourself plenty of time, hopefully it won't be as bad as the Mayo game, less than ten thousand expected at the game itself but the city is thronged this weekend with all that's going on.

Strong Derry team named and I think the same as the last day out. Fully expect a win.

left for America during the week with Conor McAtamney apparently.

How many Corofin players are in the starting 15 for Galway

I count 3 - Silke, Sice and Lundy. Really impressed by Silke against Slaughtneil in the A.I club final.
