And to back it up with a quote..

"I've been saying this for a few months, but our fixture programme didn't do us any favours and I think we have been handicapped by the Premier League," Ferguson, whose team face Southampton in the FA Cup third round at St Mary's Stadium tomorrow, said. "They tell me it's not planned - bloody hell!" Asked if he seriously thought that the Premier League wanted to put United at a disadvantage, the United manager said: "I've got my doubts. I'm not saying what they do down there, but next year we'll be sending somebody to see how it happens, I can assure you. I just don't understand how you can get the fixtures like that."

No he didn't. He said United were getting an advantage. So did Wenger.

And Ferguson said United be ad a disavantage with the fixtures so six and one...

Correct. Six and one are different, i.e. not the same.

glens abu

The difference is Mr Ferguson has the media in his back pocket whereas Benitez does not enjoy this privelege.

Doogie Browser

Liverpool fans in general have a very defensive attitude and it is being highlighted on here to a great degree recently, I know a lot of commentators (not football BTW) have said before that Liverpool as a city enjoys playing the victim role - which was a little harsh IMO based on some of the tragedies visited upon the city - but I do see their point sometimes with some of the yamming (another great word only the Irish use) on here.

Ture.

If anyone disagrees that if Rafa had of made the quote attributed to Ferguson there would have been a media frenzy, they are naive.

I see big Sam had a dig at Ferguson too.

I really can see a change in the Liverpool poster's contributations this last week or two, getting very 'ratty' and defensive. I guess they can see the righting is on the wall this year again and are finding it hard to accept after their hopes being raised higher than usual this season. Understandable considering no league title since 89/90.  As Wenger said today, the finishing order of the top 6 or 7 will be very interesting this year and Liverpool would need to get a grip soon or they will not be in the top 4 IMHO..
