The Trap

Greencastle get one night of celebration but will have a horrible time next year........Division one will be very difficult for them and Moortown.
Division two very tough for most if not all the existing teams with the four coming down of a higher standard to all of the existing teams.
Four divisions of twelve would go a long way to levelling things up.

Sure let's have 8 leagues of 6...sure "level it up even more".

Greencastle will enjoy playing senior football regardless. Great achievement. Theyre a better side than Derrylaughan or pomeroy who they replace. And there isnt  much between them and likes of eglish/pomeroy/galbally who went down!

Sure in a 4 x 12 league you'd have killyclogher/ coalisland in relegation zone and playing the likes of kildress/clogher/gortin the following year.

There's nothing inherently wrong with 16 team leagues. Id say theyre all as competitive as anywhere. Only argument for 12 team leagues is for more games (22 home and away) which could also appease some clubs as it will have effect of diluting the impact of starred games on final table while keeping club players active during county season

When did they celebrate

When they beat Greencastle 7 weeks ago. They thought they had it won and went on the drink after the game.

Donaghmore field a weak team
Thus keeping Derrylaughlan up - league is a complete joke.

Shouldn't have this problem any more with split season. Time will be given to finish the league and should be done by the end of Sept/start of Oct at the latest then you get your Championship played off.

Mikhailov

Every club has fielded 'weakened' teams this last few weeks. Surely that wasn't a full strength Ardboe team that played Errigal last week, or Clonoe/Donaghmore/Trillick/Moortown yesterday to name a few. That's what happens at the end of every season no matter what way the schedule works.
Managers give squad players a chance, men with niggles are rested - nothing new here

Eglish fielded a weakened team against Donaghmore themselves, that's why they're relegated. Masters of their own downfall, whatever genius came up with that idea

In what way was it embarrasing? If Aghyaran won, they had to be there to give them the trophy?

Greencastle were presented with the trophy an hour or so later when results became clear.

Whats the story with jack mc carron anyway. Is he going to Errigal or not, heard he was at the tennis club playing a few games in omagh yesterday with the youngest canavan brother, seems to be building a bit of a bond there but i wouldnt like to speculate as its early days given the season is only over.

but if aghyaran lost and greencastle won, they had to be there to give them the trophy too?

if greencastle were presented with the trophy an hour later, why could they not have held back on the trophy being at either game?

You can't be in two places at once so the obvious thing is to play the odds.

You may as well be at one game with a 50:50 chance than not being at any games.

would have been better waiting somewhere half way such as Carrickmore until the results were known.
