:D

In the end of season stats will that count as a header??  With his own assist?

Will someone please inform football commentators (I have emailed 5Live and the BBC on this to no avail) that the Spanish name Javier is pronounced "Hav ee er" not "Have ee ay".  He's not French!!

You have too much time on your hands!!

With 1850 odd posts I think that's stating the obvious Boycey ;D

QuoteAnd how did I get tagged as the Cork player man?  Reillers et al, get your arses in here and do your job

We'll take from here AZ but thanks! :D :D

QuoteThe strike leaders were saying that Ger's approach was holding them back but also that what they were doing was for the good of Cork hurling.

A lie, plain and simple. They were doing for the good of their own (the senior) Cork hurling team.

QuoteThere were excuses made last year for not measuring up but now they have had a clear run. So where is Cork senior hurling now? Better off or in a worse place?

Cork played all the other AI semi finalists this year and they beat one, drew with the other (seconds away from a win and a Munster title) and lost to the other. IMO Cork are not as good as any of those 3 teams so that record is quite impressive. Considering that they are still backboned by the same players that were winning AI's 8-10 years ago that is quite an achievement. So I'd certainly say they are no worse off.

I also find it ironic that the defenders of the CCB are ignoring the fact that Kilkenny have been very successful at underage over the past 10 years while Cork haven't won a minor or U21 in that time, but in fairness that's Donal Og's fault too I suppose.

QuoteLast year pro strike posters were using the 'first year syndrome' to deflect criticism and as Skull pointed out they're trying to deflect criticism now by implying some of us are obsessed, hateful or irrational.

I wouldn't label any of the others as that but you are and no, we didn't use first year syndrome as an excuse. There is always a bedding in process but we wouldn't have to point that out if you didn't blame every Cork defeat, league or championship on the strike.

I could go on but here are some facts.

1. Cork played Tipp, Waterford, Antrim and Kilkenny - won 2, drew 2 (losing in ET) and lost 1. Considering their opponents it isn't a bad record.

2. Reached their first Munster final since before Gerlad's reign.

3. Wouldn't have even been in the semi final if Gerlad had still be manager because most of teh players that played yesterday wouldn't have been there.

While I can accept any man might find players striking as distasteful, how anyone could try and suggest that Cork would be better off if they had faced down the players is beyond me. Have ye not seen how Limerick has panned out?

Cheers Zulu!!

Bradley commits future to Antrim

Antrim boss Liam Bradley has ended speculation linking him with the vacant Derry managerial post by committing his future to the Saffrons.

The Derry native had been touted as a possible replacement for Damian Cassidy whose resignation after two years in charge was announced on Friday.

Bradley has a further year of his Antrim contract to run and said he would honour that commitment.

"I intend to stay for the full three years of my contract," said Bradley.

The Glenullin man's two years in charge of the Saffrons have seen them reach their first Ulster final since 1970 and win successive promotions in the National League.

Bradley had indicated an interest in the Derry job two years ago but was overlooked in favour of Bellaghy man Cassidy.

The Antrim boss did not rule out the possibility of managing his native county in the future.

"It's not that I don't want to manage Derry, but it's not for me at this present time," he told the Irish News.

"I'm building a team in Antrim and we feel we're going places - that's where I'll be next year," he added.

Other names linked to the post include John Brennan, Brian McIver, Damien Barton and Niall Conway.

Among those from outside the county who may be considered are Malachy O'Rourke and Seamus McEnaney.

I don't like to gloat....but I'm afraid I have to this time...whats it like to see a team that you have ridiculed beat the best team in Ireland by a mile

The Aristocrats are back....

I'm feeling all left our 5Sams!!  I'm giving up predicting matches.

Brilliant performance by Down, completely outplayed Kerry who didn't realise unitl 15 mins were gone that they weren't going to win this game by simply turning up.  Poor attitude from Kerry all round summed up by a cynical nasty performance from the so called "Star" capped by the worst dive you'll see for the penalty and the bile that came from the mouth of Jack O'Connor >:(

I wouldn't be writing an obit for this Tyrone team too soon.  A bad day at the office both on and off the field.  It's all been discussed on the thread.

Dublin were the better team and deserved to win.  But Tyrone lost it in that 10-12 min period in the 2nd half when they were on top and kicked 4 bad wides in quick succession.  The next day those points will go over.  However one big worry for Tyrone is that Dublin wanted to win that game more.  As Jack O'Connor is obesessed with Tyrone was Harte looking forward to another crack at Cork??

I for one saw that Dooher performance coming.  You can talk about bleep tests all you want but Dooher was knackered against Antrim.
