Heard nothing moy, just that he started the FBD League game earlier in the year and the fact Horan seems to give players 'new' leases of life after a good club run. That's all. It'd be nice to get another one over Kerry, picking up 2 points along the way as well.

Someone on mayogaablog saying that the western is repeorting that Evan Regan and Mikie Sweeney likely to join up with senior panel soon. You hear anything about that Moy?

I think we are giving a walkover and accepting our fate of division 2.. :P

This is not going to be easy, but Marc and Sheehan should come into the team at least to stregthen things a bit..Mayo has not been a happy hunting ground for us in recent years so any result would be a bonus..Would throw Cox and Geaney straight in (depending on blood alcohol levels) after Sigerson success, Culhane too probably deserves a run after that although don't think he'll make it.

Anyway, will probably have another post mortem job to do Sunday evening after a 4 hour round trip. :-[

The Mayo News have done an analysis of Mayo league games since start of 2011 season.

It reads won 9, drew 2 and lost 11.

McHale Park is far from a fortress either. The home league record is won 4, drew 1 and lost 6!

Bring back the Ballina and Crossmolina matches!

Well said moysider, all this talk about the home advantage in Castlebar really does my head in. It's not as if we are unbeatable there. Just because we all think there's no kick left in Kerry, the hoors could still pull something out of the bag in this one.

The reality is that we are shy several players too. They might not be all time greats of the game like Tomás, Galvin and Gooch but we are far from full strength. Also ours should be back but whether likes of Dillon and Andy can get back to their best remains to be seen. Caff, Boyler and Keegan were injured in Clones and if all or any/some/all of these are missing next Sunday it will be interesting to see how we cope.
Our last 2 games were decided by our daftness with great goal chances. For all our players missing we really should be on 2 wins at this stage.

What would be the largest pitch in the county?

Dunno really. Ballyhaunis? Ballyheane and new pitches in Swinford and Ballaghadereen?
The pitches in the Prenty Bowl?
Why?

Surely playing on the nearest dimensions we have to Croke Park would do us the most benefit come the summer.

Is Croke Park that big? Do not the hurling people love the bigger hurling pitches like Thurles.
Anyway I d prefer if some league games were played on pitches with an atmosphere which is important too. See how players do when the crowd is around them and want it. Castlebar for the league has no soul. I ve great memories of McHale in championship but in winter it does not work and our record above shows that imo.

The pitch in Parke used to be so big, they used to play soccer width wise
