That front has been watered down a fair bit in the latest model runs. Not giving it to run as far north now

Exactly. Forecasters always err on the side of pessimistic.

Plus, in the occupied six, a lot of people think that the forecast for England applies to the north.
It couldn't piss enough on some of them

You referring to the north or England

You can't accuse the British of overreacting.
"many stranded passengers" "communities cut off for days" "long interruptions to power"  = amber warning

What would be a red warning, return of the glaciers?

Sunny in Belfast, bit cold but no one has died yet, trains still working though, and schools still operating

Heavy snow in Dublin now.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Cold easterly breeze here. Nothing extraordinary. It'll be on the news this evening so seeing as it's snowing in Dublin.

Aaron Boone

BBC NI forecast at 10.30pm  totally ignored the 10 inches about to fall 50 miles south in Leinster.  Angle NI Phillips did say the east UK was suffering as she expanded the map over Eng/Scot/Wales.
