Quote from: lurganblue on May 07, 2026, 02:56:43 PMI binged the 2 season of The Pitt.  I believe it was recommended on here. I'm not usually into medical dramas but I gave this a go anyway.  I'm glad I did.  It's a fantastic show that moves at such a pace.  I like the "24" style hour by hour breakdown.

There is loads of gore that on occasion I struggled with, but I suppose that's a good thing.  It is so realistic. Plenty of pain and suffering, that tugs at the heartstrings, with some things that unfortunately many of us can relate to.

The last few episodes of the 1st series were hectic and brilliant.
Aye super show and reflected in recent awards.

Founder of TCM too which used to be a great source for old movies. And ex of Jane Fonda.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on May 05, 2026, 10:22:51 PMWin three games and it's a seriously historic season
Is it not 4 if including the CL? 3 may be enough but City could win them all and load on the goals.

Quote from: AustinPowers on May 04, 2026, 09:17:16 PMWu 16-15 ahead. 2 more needed.

Mark Allen must  be kicking himself  . I had a feeling when Allen missed that  black , Wu would go on  to win the tournament. Reminded me of Chelsea in the champions league  in 2012.
Not over yet. I'd still have Wu marginal favourite. He doesn't seem to have any nerves, but Murphy not lying down. But yes Allen would have fancied himself

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on May 03, 2026, 05:29:12 PMUtd very lucky against a poor Liverpool team who should've went on to win that game

Seriously lad. Liverpool should never have been close in that game. Delusion of the highest order.
That's the famous MR mindgames  ;D

Liverpool definitely the poorer of 2 poor teams. The great and the good of Europe won't be losing much sleep this summer over either side. Big changes needed over the summer and for Liverpool it may need to be in the dugout too.

There was some bellend on the socials a couple of days ago (according to #2 son) who said if he got 3000 likes he'd shout out "180" during the snooker. Top bantz.

Aye finished it the other night. Preposterous stuff (as are the books) but entertaining enough.

Was waiting on a post on this, are they based on the books? Have read most of them
Aye this one based on The Devils Star. I read them years ago buy remembered precisely nothing. It's worth a spin if you're looking for a new series.

This guy used to go to the gym I went to

A complete and utter turd, not even a polished turd, just a grifter, comical to the point I think people must be bonkers to actually sign up for anything he presents
There's another fella called Phil Graham who keeps appearing on the socials. I think he sold programmes on how to run a gym and obviously "scale" and "10X" their business.

So you watched the show?
I didn't no. I thought my first question made that obvious.

Haven't watched but decided to critic it... gotcha

I didn't critic it. I asked whether Nolan challenged the clear institutional sectarianism in the PSNI in his show. I'm guessing he doesn't want to shine a light on that subject any more than you apparently do.
As others have said, that clearly wasn't the purpose of the show. That's what investigative journalism programmes like Spotlight are for. There is no doubt there was a PR piece for the PSNI in this and it was clearly riding on the coat tails of the success of Blue Lights, but it gave a real insight into the troubles the peelers and society in general are facing related to drink, drugs and mental health.
