Hurling Discussion / Re: Kevin Cashman

Cashman's hatred of Galway was unreal.
Pity he was gone when Cork brought soloing and handpassing to a new level. I wonder how he would have dealt with that?

Lots of the most hated songs are stock wedding band numbers, or songs that drunk girls all sing along to.
That's one way to make a bad song even worse.

Robbie O'Flynn going for goal instead of tapping it over was a big moment.
Shanagher is the most relieved man in Ireland tonight.

Was that in a car or on his pony?  ;D

McManus for me.
Watson had talent, but we have dozens of Watsons in Galway too, fellas who didn't always make it count on the inter county scene.

They've beaten Limerick twice, you'd need a serious amount of luck to do that twice.

That said Clare have shown that they can stick with teams and get over the line, they've also beaten Cork, but lost to Limerick twice, can be too reliant on Shane to get them going.

The first ten minutes will tell, who gets over their nerves first
Clare are delighted it's not Limerick they're facing.
They don't fear Cork the same way.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on July 17, 2024, 11:41:55 AMSeen two old club players back in the day, one a very accomplished soccer player, both headed the ball into the net, one was given and the other the ref disallowed it. I remember the one given caused a stink to the home team but we lapped it up on the sidelines
Anyone who tries to head an O'Neill football will get some extra brain damage to go along with what they already have.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on July 17, 2024, 02:11:34 PMThat's fair in respect that if the allocation is not used within that clubs membership, then the rest go back to the county to allocate to other clubs that are short of tickets due to their membership being bigger
Are you serious? No club is going to return any All Ireland tickets.
If you are a small club with less members than the number of tickets allocated to you - you're going to give two tickets to some members. Or maybe give some to lads who have been members or players in the past but aren't anymore for whatever reason (moved away etc.).
You absolutely will not be returning any to the county board - not a chance.

And that's fine if the club is going to do that, just don't be surprised that they get less tickets the next time..

Giving non paid up members tickets is just wrong..

Unless it's the local bank manager or the local solicitor  ::)

Nowadays, Premiums are more useful for getting access to concerts than Leinster championship matches that no one goes to.

I hope you are right.
