The analysts nearly leap over the table when Lyster suggested that Kilkenny would hammer either of them teams.

They all said that didn't matter and they were right. That is for another day.

Poor Michael must have thought he was on the football show where the analysis basically consists of "they won't win the All-Ireland". This ground breaking stuff seems to be right for 31 of the 32 counties every year, incredible.

Well they maybe correct but KK may have an off day and one never knows. I wouldnt write off Waterfords Chance but KK are still the best team in the land

Hurling was not for the purist untill Cork got their Goal, that finished the ttactics which up to that had runied the game and  then hurling flowed despite the conditions. great entertainment.

Well the Dubs have just beaten the Cats at U21 and speaking of under 14's, I believe that Kilmacud beat the Cats in feile na ngael last weekend too. So they may have Big rivals in Leinster soon.

Yes a terrible pity to see it fall off but with the possession game that exists today it is suicidal almost to pull on the ground. Im sure that if players had the wrists of John Fenton they wouldnt mind having a go from way out the field but then he was better than most with the ground stroke.

Sure and the fact that Kerry are competing in the Cristy Ring final this year and hold more all irelands in football than conaught and ulster put together says more about the disrespect for other sports in these 2 provinces than it does of Kerrys regard to sport in general. Disgracefull that ye should wallow.

Hurling has become more of a possesion game in recent years, hense the lack of ground hurling and over head pulls that were a feature of the old game. However handpassing the ball around the pitch like football will never happen in hurling thank god. If footballers could kick a ball as far as hurlers can drive a sliothar then Im sure they would kick out of defense to their forwards and risk losing possesion.

When hurling is played like this there is no game like it. You can change the rules and referees all day and football will still be football

He scored 4-7 today and still lost in a magnificent game

Have to agree with comments on Mullanes point. It was his belief and attitude of 'give me the ball and I will win the match' that says something about the man.

Yesterday was a poor day for hurling. Just one of those days where the ball attracted itself to the sidelines and didnt allow free flowing hurling. The previous saturday in ennis was the same. Give joe a dry sod and he will shine. He is a class act and ajoy to watch even if just placed balls.

We have seen enough of rubbish football this year and last weekend wasnt much better. Thank God we have 2 big hurling matches this weekend. The choice of football qualifiers is so bad for the coming weekend that RTE are having difficulty picking a worthwhile match to show.

Cairan Carey .

I nearly cried too, but Im from Clare. That was the hardest defeat to take in my many years of following clare. The roar of the cowd after still rings in me ears.
