Galway deserved the win. We lacked experience but we'll learn from it. The first half was very good, the second half not so much. Cork hit too many wides and we were just outplayed in the second half. Cork got further than most people thought we would. A couple of mistakes cost us but this year was always going to be a development year.

I think the teams that are left, Tipp, Galway and Cork do not fear Kilkenny the way others do. All 3 (well all 2) are absolutely capable of beating Kilkenny. Tipp need to keep their head, don't get brought down to Kilkenny's game, let them play their own.

I don't think Galway will crack, if they get passed Cork (which hopefully they wont) and if they meet Kilkenny in the final, I think it'll be different now. I think Galway now know that not only can they play Kilkenny at their own game, but are well capable of beating them, and can be superior.

Now whether Kilkenny in all their frigthtful rage with their need for blood and pain, turn up is another question altogether. Then well..God help us all.

To put it bluntly I hope Tipp beat them out the gate. Hurling's second biggest hurling rivalry? Really?

We certainly won't be beaten out any gate anyway that's for sure.

Training going well , good spirit in the camp, I'd say we'll edge it by about 4 points if Fennelly & Rice do the business in midfield.

I said I hope, we can all live in hope.

On more than one occasion a hell lot of GAA people hoped Cork would be humiliated (for whichever reasons) and I can't pretend that we (along with most fans I imagine) were delighted to see Galway do it to your lot. (Once in a blue moon but it reminds everyone Kilkenny are human and beatable).

I admit it was nice to see a few Kilkenny fans who got that a little bit ahead of themselves over the last few years, predicting a 10 point plus win, put in their place and reminded that nothing lasts forever.  A little bit too much arrogance has crept in over the years. (It says a lot coming from a Cork supporter ;) )

I agree with you though, I imagine a 4/5 point win for Kilkenny. As much as I enjoyed it, I imagine that Galway game was a blip and we're still waiting Kilkenny's real response, whether that's unleashed against Tipp or if they keep that for Galway, or Cork for that matter (God help us) still we'll learn a lot from the game, but I can't see beyond a Kilkenny win unless Tipp have an exceptional day.

Very excited for it. Hopefully Cork will put in a big performance and then anything is possible.

We've a lot of young lads, nobody expected much from us this year, it was supposed to be a development year more than anything. We've a lot of young players and with youth comes endless confidence. When you get older a lot of pressure builds, we saw it year after year with Waterford, an outstanding team with incredible players who kept falling short, who did deserve to win an All Ireland, and as they got older the desperation grew higher.
Young players fear nothing, and there is no pressure on these players, no expectation. Galway are obviously favourites but anything can happen.

I'd rather the Cork team was more settled and it's a pity that some of our young lads have lost a bit of form, a few players aren't ready yet, Joyce is injured etc but we've a good strong squad available to us and it's a physically strong side. It's good to see Sean Og back, we do need that experience and leadership he'll offer, and he'll give us everything, hopefully he'll have a massive game for us.

There are a few brave calls in there but I think they've gotten the ballance right, this was always going to be a transitional year, but I think if they play to their full potential we've enough here and on the bench to get a result on Sunday.

You can't say they're not afraid to make changes. We know that this year is more about learning what we have and what they can offer, I'm still not convinced the Cork management are 100% sure that they know what their best team is, but I'm pleased with the selection and hopefully we'll get a win.

Waterford and Cork matches are always massive days out, there's a great long running rivalry there and the atmosphere is always incredible and hopefully Cork will come out winners in the end.

Can't wait.

The comfortable win doesn't reflect what happened on the field. Cork were sloppy, we will get absolutely destroyed by whoever we draw (knowing our luck it'll be Kilkenny) unless we seriously up our game.

We are really poor in the air when it comes to winning possession from our HB line to the guys up front, with as always one or two main sources. We can't seem to win our own puck outs or the breaking ball, we left Wexford win so much today from our half back line, which lead to us conceeding such a high score, against a better team which we will face in the next round, we wont be let off so lightly.

The amount of handpassing in our hb line was appauling, as was the lose marking.
The constant interchanging up front is confusing our forwards more than it is our opposition.
We lacked intensity, but hopefully we'll see a big change for the next day.
We don't have a settled team. JBM has done a lot of good work but we're not going to be ready for the next game I'd imagine. I think the team will up their intensity massively for the next day.
A comfortable win, but we'll need a much bigger improvement for the next day.

On the plus side a few positive performances and we scored a penalty, hallelujah!!

Well then..that was a bit of a surprise. Brilliant to see. Well done Galway. Fantastic to see Kilkenny get such a hammering. Especially when I know a few lads who were predicting a 10 point victory for Kilkenny.
Can't even begin to explain what happened in the first half, I've never seen Kilkenny outhurled like that for so long.

Brilliant from Galway and another masterpiece by Canning. All in all a great weekend of results.

Poor from Cork tonight, a lot of problems from tonight. Some of them looked very nervous, I understand they're young but it was all over the place at times. There is a lack of confidence, and it shows with the needless passing and messing about in front of goal, they almost seem afraid to try.

Will need to do better, this performance wont be nearly good enough against a better team. Hopefully a lot will have been learned from tonight and it'll be a confidence boost for them.

Personally don't see Cadogan as a full-back myself. He has struggled badly there in the past. Too cumbersome in possession, takes too much out of the ball and has slow reactions against a mobile full-forward. If you are beaten at full-back there is no hiding place, every mistake will be punished and Cadogan is too loose for such a position.

Half-back for me, maybe on the wing. I wouldn't be writing him off based on the last game. He won't be the only defender that struggles against Bonner Maher this year or in the future. You'd have to wonder if his hurling is suffering with the commitment to football.

Glad to see Joyce get his opportunity. Have been impressed with this guy for a while, albeit at underage and club level, and felt he should have seen more playing time in the League. This is obviously a step-up in class but I'd be hopeful he can grab his chance to shine.

Overall happy enough with the team. I might have gone for McDonnell and moved O'Neill out to wing-back in place of Kenny. We should have enough to beat Offaly and progress to the next round.

Ya very happy to see Joyce, it's good to see the management going for youth, he's 20, but he's been very impressive.
It's a big step up, but this, on paper at least, is a good game for him to get a go. My one concern is that Offaly will be physical, and it will be a real test of his physicality. He deserves a go now, to be looked at, if he can't do it against Offaly, and if he struggles, than he would probably struggle further down the line if he was introduced, so it's a great time to test him out.

I'd be optimistic about the game, once we go in switched on without taking anything for granted, and hopefully because these guys are so young, they will go in there looking to prove something. It's good in away that we're in this position, it's gives a lot of these guys more game time.

I really hope that we are able to take our goal opportunities because that has really been lacking, and it's been a big reason why we've fallen short this season. We need to be ruthless.
I think if we show up, work hard, Offaly will give us a very tough and hard battle for the first 45/50 minutes, but I think in the end Cork will hopefully pull away, with 6/7 points to spare.

Full back is the place for him. No doubt. I can't see him as a centre back at all, and when I saw him picked there against Tipp I thought it was because they wanted him to Dog Noel McGrath. Then Tipp put Bonner there, and that was a different breed altogether :)

He's too loose a defender, he's better at football and should probably stick with it, he wont last as a dual player.

Our record down in Cork is not great, so it was extra sweet to win this one.

Tipp were ready to kick on for a comfortable win when the red card came. It was going to be very same as the Limerick game, where we took charge early in the second half after getting the goal.

Noel McGrath is in great form, Bonner is hugely under rated, Lar will benefit from the run out. The performance of the corner backs is worrying.

Pairc Ui Chaoimh is a disgrace of a ground and it is a shame that the Munster final is going to played there. I made the mistake of getting a ticket for the covered stand. Lucky the seat beside me was empty so I could face both my knees towards it.
Waterford and Tipp would take a proper stadium Thurles any day and every day.

Happy enough with the game, but not the result. Much more positives than negatives. The lack of experience told in the end. If we had taken our goal chances we would have won. Tipp I guess deserved the win, but it was dissapointing Cork didn't push on.

We could have used the extra man better, JBM should have brought on Sean Og or Gardiner to sweep up, we lacked experience, and fell short, especially in that area.

Conor O'Sullivan, Horgan and Paudie were excellent and stand outs. It's good to see so many young lads coming through, and doing well.

We scored 24 points, and lost by one, if you had offered me that before the game I would have been happy enough with that. After the game though I was more dissapointed because we could have won it. Especially if they had taken advantage of the extra man.
It's a pity, but there are much more positives from the loss than negatives. In many cases, you learn more from a loss than you do from a win. It will really help these guys improve and each game brings more experience.

And our ground is a disgrace. Well in need of a revamp. It's almost a hazard at this stage. There's been plans to redevelop Pairc Ui Chaoimh for a long time.
