Jack Lynch captained both Cork teams in 1939 at the age of 21/22, he was also hurling captain in '38

Edit: Not sure if it counts, but when Seán Óg Ó hAilpín made his Cork debut in the famous game against Limerick in 1996, he was the only Na Piarsaigh (county champions) representative on the pitch as nominated captain Mark Mullins had been brought off.

He had turned 19 only four days previously.

Edward Carson (UUP leader) played hurling when he was at Trinity

Philip Clifford was 20 when he captained Cork as they reached the All-Ireland SFC final in 1999, though he was only standing in for Bantry Blues clubmate Damien O'Neill, who got injured after the first game of the championship against Waterford.

Brian Corcoran was also 20 when he captained Cork hurlers in 1993

They should do a switcheroo with Cork, as O2's colours are blue  :)

Nice, clean designs from O'Neills, they seem to have finally given up the practice of putting counties' crests on the sleeves

I think being captain will give him more cofidence knowing that he doesn't have to be looking over his shoulder expecting to be the first player withdrawn, and he'll flourish

Edit: I think the Mayo captain was Jimmy Browne was it?

Were the washing machines to signify the Mother's washing the jersey's etc after match's or were they something to do with the Kerry team of the 70's?

That's what I came in to say, Bendix wasn't it?

There's a Tyrone picture book out based on the 2008 season (pictures mostly which'll suit those in Urney, Brackaville, Andersonstown, Gortin and Moortown).

Fairly decent - pics all by Jim Dunne.

Can you get it locally O'Neill ??

Is the Season of Sundays out this year ?????

Tis, and my years of buying it have paid off as I'm in it!  8)
