Quote from: NatSoSaff on February 12, 2026, 10:49:43 AMAlmost 2 days out from national league home fixture v Longford, and no venue secured.

Will it be played at all or will a venue outside the county need to host it?

Game confirmed for PG1. Longford are poor so this would have been seen as a banker but the way things are it's far from a certainty. Expect a win nonetheless.

Quote from: YoungSaff on February 12, 2026, 01:02:17 PMI hear some of the Downey clan has departed the Ulster select and will be returning to Lavey , good enough for them never should have been there in first place. As far as I'm aware Matthew and Connor Downey are leaving

That's Henrys 2 lads. Matthew currently playing for Derry so Lavey will be glad to have him back and he'll be a great addition. Seamus has been the problem in all of this, his boys should grow a set and return too.
Lavey would be C'ship contenders if they do.

Officially it's down as Cargin but I assume the weather could mean it moved to PG1?

I'll call a spade a spade here. When you have Managers who come in and whos sole motivation is money then you will always hit problems. It's evident both in hurling and football at the moment. They treat players as commodities and not as players. Players have walked from football set up. Likely in hurling too from what I am hearing.

No big loss? You are on a wind up

Paddy is a committed Antrim player so to leave in this way is not normal. Conor Small has walked also. I think it's fair that people are asking why?

The questions that remain unanswered are why was Doran appointed before he got a backroom team? Then he couldn't recruit anyone so took in 3 brothers from the same club. Highly irregular. That's all before he is reported to have chased Clann Eireann for a club job. 2 bad loses in Div.4 and now Antrim players are leaving. It doesnt stack up well.

Wonder what the reason was?

That's a shocker. Anyone know why he left?

Quote from: Saffsof82 on February 01, 2026, 10:36:33 PMTeam that took to the pitch was completely different than supplied by county website, horrible result all the same. The red card was the turning point but paddy mcb omission not a good call, plenty of managers have disagreements with players at training but those with character suck it up when they are wrong and don't blame the player, poor show

Poor result again. Was there a row in camp with McBride?

Carlow were worthy winners. Were better set up and very much up for it. Deserved their win.
Antrim sat far too deep and allowed Carlow waltz through midfield unopposed time and time again.
I had Jordan down as being finished from McKenna Cup games but he proved that wrong yesterday. Without him it could have been a heavy defeat, he carried the fight.

Just checked social media and nothing. Hurling team out since yesterday. It says football team to be announced "tonight" (which was last night). Pretty poor.

Wise decision. PG1 best pitch in the county.
Playing McKenna cup match on Cargin training pitch was embarrassing. A mud bath.

Not sure where I stand on KK. If what I'm hearing is true then it was a terrible incident. Not sure if an amateur sport are in a position not to allow him play his game though particularly before he's sentenced.

Was at game on Sunday in Toome. Hard to know what to think about it. The conditions played into Antrims hands defensively as Donegal missed a lot of chances. 0-7 scored in the last 2 games doesn't bode well. Good to see a few new faces given a shot. Not convinced at all by the older faces back as they're race has run but I could be wrong on that?. Despite things not looking rosy I do see Antrim getting out of Div.4.
