Are Cargin folding at the end of this season? That's a shame 🤣

Quote from: EOC1923 on November 05, 2024, 12:26:26 PMBallymena have the quality players to win this game. St Theresas were poor in the final and Ballymena did all they had to, but I feel the Ballymena men can step up another gear.
U21, What can be said about this competition, if the teams taking part in the final can get some benefit out of it fair play but really I do think its a farcical competition. The hurling final 5th August before the senior starts, Football final 10th Nov. Says all you need to know.

Give me a date in the year that suits? Clubs, yes the clubs are in talks when these things come up for discussion. Very dismissive of the clubs that have put the effort in at both grades for what has always been a difficult competition going back as far as I can remember, and I've played in a right few of them.

everything is set in stone and other competitions play second fiddle
Why not rotate it and have the u21 football closed out by the 5th August before the senior championship starts every other year

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on November 03, 2024, 08:09:25 AMTyrone teams have the poorest record in Ulster, you'd want to be getting a Tyrone team when the draw is made.

No excuses now
True MR2, we've beaten Tyrone team in Ulster before, we can do it again. Positive vibes

Went and got the job done fair play to Newbridge, and that was a huge shock by the way

Don't think we should get rid of him, just wondered what expectations are.

Serious question, what are we expecting from Antrim footballers in 2025? Some would agree it's been two mediocre seasons so far for Andy McEntee

Quote from: ClubScene13 on October 23, 2024, 04:08:09 PMThe record of 1 win on penalties and 6 defeats by a minimum of 4 points each time would tell me the Cargin posters on here should try to win with a bit more grace than they normally do. It is pure scutter every year and dare I say arrogance. I'm sure it is no representation of players or wider club / communtity. Just a few on the wind up but unnecessary.

Maybe it is well deserved the county record is unbelievable, but if you were 10 mile down the road there might be more humility when it comes to football
Beating Glenties some achievement no matter what you say - Clonoe man with gripe about Cargin

Ballymena have a good opportunity I feel, big name county players littered through the team

Quote from: bannside on October 22, 2024, 11:00:47 AMCargin must feel good, they've their strongest panel for a long time, and went close against All Irelsnd Champs last year, arguably "robbed" depending on who you talk to. Plus Tyrone or Donegal clubs have a poor record in this. Be good to hear what their representatives on here think?

All Saints be my own pick if I was to predict who might collect silverware or go closest. Got a lot of quality and speed to burn..Be fantastic for the town if they do.

Not sure about our strength in junior grade tbh, but Amtrim have nothing to lose at this stage.
Can't be denied the 4 weeks break is huge help to prep, Paul mccann missed the final completely,
Big Gerard missed 3/4 of it, Mick played throughout with a quad injury and Wee Jamie played through the pain when he came on. So this time ideal to heal any injuries. Hopefully the 4 weeks gets the team back up somewhere close to full strength to give us any chance.

Quote from: Duine Inteacht Eile on October 16, 2024, 08:20:43 AM"It categorically doesn't." is an appropriate quote I've recently read on this board. It remains very debatable.

I have a lot of time and the utmost respect for him but I think it was foolish of Curly to say that the photo shows it "quite clearly" was out.

He'd have been better just posting the photo and leaving his categorical opinion out of the comment.

The photo still shows an element of doubt, due to the angle and I am a neutral with no tie to either club.

It put nothing to bed and that's my final take on it.
When someone keeps underlining the fact they are neutral dive for cover.
Some bollocks talked on here lads glad to be part of it

The bots are out in force, and still no evidence to show the ball was out of play. But hey, let it go, it's over, we were in your head before the game and we will be in it again.

We move on. Hopefully Cargins superb game management continues in Ulster, good bunch of lads, and no ill will from PG1 whatsoever.

But be clear about one thing picture of innocence bystander. Your comment that PG1 don't know how to win and Cargin dont know how to lose will come back to bite you in the arse.

That was a battle on Sunday, Cargin do what they do, and PG1 go back to the well.
Mostly fair comments BS, but are other people calling these umpires liars? One in behind and one with a perfect view across? Look at the players feet, how far they are back from the line and also both players leaning back. Also look at direction of the angle the cargin outfield player is looking at across to action.
Come on lads it does look fairly obvious

Great final, maybe not quality wise but action and intensity wise was best in years. 2025 will be an interesting one again

Wouldn't say that, I haven't heard any other Portgleone guys mention this and I know plenty of them. Away home proud of their team as they should be.
Any Antrim men on the Ulster squad for the weekend anyone know?

Quote from: bannside on October 14, 2024, 12:26:19 AMFirstly, congratulations to Cargin, great club, you know how to grind em out. Good luck in Ulster, all Antrim will be behind you.

Casements didn't fear Cargin before the game and round the club we feel like it's one we lost, rather than Cargin won.

The video is going around that shows we had a good goal disallowed, and we thought when Dermot was black carded, Mick got away with an exact same foul a few minutes later. Those things hot hard when refereeing gets it wrong or is perceived to not be consistent.

And we thought  Enda Lynn should have got a free in to level it in extra time.

Those who wish to comment please do so, just take the time to review the evidence beforehand.

Portglenone will suck it up, and will come back for more. Now that we know we can go toe to toe with Cargin for an hour, our challenge is to go find that extra couple of per cent.

Good luck Cargin, but don't go looking down your noses at us no more! We arnt far away...and youse know it.
Fair dues Bannside your men done  themselves proud today and took it to us but you are absolutely taking the piss claiming hard done by decision wise. 7-5 down in normal time, two scandalous decisions awarding frees. The commentators on the stream were in disbelief. Cargin on one of their worst days still came through against Portglenone who are away home thinking they played well
That's the reality.

More typical condescending EOC. You were in a battle today and you know it. Goal disallowed that video evidence going round shows it was a scandalous decision.

You know we are bang up there with you, stop talking shite.
Talking shite anyone ?
