Cullen Killeen to miss All-Ireland club hurling final as Loughrea lose Central Hearings Committee appeal

Said it at the time disgraceful decision, how anyone would pull out a red card on the final whistle for a club player going to an All Ireland final is beyond me. If you have to give out a yellow and blow the whistle and move on.

How was it?

Referee and linesman immediately pulled him up and dished out the red. Must have been a strike off the ball.

Doesn't matter if it's 5 mins in in a 1st round game or 2 mins from the end of an All-Ireand Final, it's still a red.

So what, if it's a semi-final. Harsh lesson for the lad but they were about 12 pts up and 2 mins left. Silly more than anything and unfortunately for him, he's probably learned his lesson now.

Biggest day of his hurling career ruined over the fact of an incident no one gives a sh*t about. Who would have argued had he been given a yellow and blew the whistle?

I get the implication of the rules but there's a time and place for it and a time and place to recognise the significance of the moment.

Just IMO.

Biggest day of his career ruined because he whacked a fella with 2 mins to go in a game they were 12 points up in.

But the idea that there is a time and a place for rules?
