Interesting to see Laois GAA getting a mention on a Northern Ireland politics programme but it seem our Football Manager has a decision to make with regard to his future commitment to either Laois or Stormont!

I've always thought Laois Today were doing a fine job but their failure to cover a fairly significant story pertaining to Laois GAA in early December has led me to reassess, given that the story made it into the national newspapers and was front page headline news on the Laois Nationalist!
 One wonders!🤔

What happens if AK get relegated? Will suspensions be on ice until they return to senior status?
Of course it's not just a Laois problem. The farce that allowed a Cork player to play in the Camogie final just illustrates the problem nationally!

You'd have to wonder what the hell CB officials are there to do! Four man review committee to look back on to the past and four more to look to the future!

Does anyone have an opinion about Hawkeye and the point awarded to Kilkenny yesterday? Why does the caption used to award the score not show the position of the ball in relation to to crossbar at the point where Hogan actually caught the sliothar? With all the cameras at the game, isn't it strange not to have one positioned along the end line where everyone could see whether or not the point was scored!

Great fighting performance from a young Saints team last night and a right good game of football.
Have to say though it's a bit much to ask some of the Portlaoise lads to play four games in less than eight days. Leinster Club on Sunday, U21 Hurling on Tuesday, U21 Football on Friday and back to U21 Hurling on Sunday morning. And then they talk about player burn out and welfare! That's not to say arranging fixtures is easy, but surely that sort of workload can't be in anyone's best interest!

Monument Road you beat me to the punch with both your posts. It been a pleasure watching this team throughout the league and championship and what a joy it's been to see Tom Kelly recovered from his injury and togging out again and playing so well. His presence alone on the pitch must have been such a help to the younger lads in particular. So well done to all the panel for bridging a 41 year gap and thanks to the 3 or 4 lads who were bumped up to senior during the year also.

Have to say hard luck to Kilcavan. I saw two instances of great sportsmanship from them tonight. I saw their midfielder give our man of the match a "well done" handshake as our man was substituted and I saw Tarpey pull out of a situtation where he could have cleaned one of our lads very late in the game when all was lost for them and it would have served no purpose. Also their Chairman was very gracious in congratulating our officials on the sideline just before the game ended, so well done Kilcavan and best of luck in the Leinster Championship!

If Portlaoise win both Senior and Intermediate championships using all available subs during both finals, will they then end up with 40+ senior players for 2018 and only one team on which they can play in the SFC?

What happens to the Portlaoise panel of players if they win on Saturday and their seniors win the SFC?

Isn't it always the same with GAA rule book. Things are never as simple as they could, or should be! That's why so many objections, appeals and counter appeals end up in being adjudicated on in Croke Park at 3am in the morning. As someone said earlier in this discussion, club officials are all unpaid volunteers who do the job as best they can for the sake of their club but are obliged to know every syllable and nuance of the rule book! If you're lucky enough to have good ones you should treasure them. We certainly do!

BallyroanAbu in Tom Kelly's case why would you be surprised Joseph's didn't regrade him? The man had bones broken in his back as a result of a tackle and for a number of years football was never an option for him. Things like going for a walk with your son or going out to work to provide for your family are far more important!
Besides, just like Wolly, they didn't need to be regarded. As you said yourself Josephs's seem to know the rules! And London's only a phone call away! Closer much of the time!😉
