First win over Laois since 2002. A good win for Offaly 2-13 to 1-8 in a match that was expected to be a close competitive contest. Laois hopes not helped going down to 14 men.

A match that won't live long in the memory. FT Down 0-13 Antrim 0-9

Down 0-10 Antrim 0-6 with 15 minutes and whatever injury time to play. A bit of drama late on might make up for this poor match.

Low key stuff. Half time Down 0-6 Antrim 0-3. Down have the wind advantage for 2nd half.

Quote from: square_ball on April 12, 2024, 09:33:10 AMLiverpool have a right good chance in the league now if they do go out. Ideal scenario will be Arsenal and City to meet in the champions league semi in a few weeks.

I am nearly tempted to stick a tenner on them to still win the Europa. They have been creating loads of chances and if they get an early goal in Italy, Atlanta could shit the bed. Depends if Klopp thinks they'd be better chasing it or turn their attentions to the winning the league.

Could be a blessing in disguise if Liverpool go out and City,Arsenal progress to the semi finals of the Champions league.

This is the schedule if they go through.

May 2nd - Europa league semi final 1st leg

May 5th Tottenham (H)

May 9th Europa league semi final 2nd
leg

May 13th Aston Villa (A)

Quote from: Mourne Red on April 11, 2024, 09:40:18 PMKelleher has had a nightmare tonight

Was poor for the first and 3rd goals. One good save before half time to keep it 1-0.

Brian Kerr thinks Liverpool wasn't at best tonight because they didn't pick their strongest team. Looking at the bench he has a point.

1996 to 2005 was the last competitive decade for Leinster football championship. Titles won by Meath 3,Dublin 2,Kildare 2,Westmeath 1,Offaly 1,Laois 1.

The last three years U20 Leinster championships was won by Kildare 2,Offaly 1 and since U17 was introduced in 2017 Leinster has been won by Meath 4, Dublin 2,Kildare 1 so there is the potential to get a different name to Delaney Cup in the years ahead.  For now it's a case of who will be 2nd best in Leinster and will grab the 2nd seed spot in the All Ireland group stage.

Quote from: armaghniac on April 10, 2024, 10:42:34 PMOne thing I did notice on the Sunday game at the weekend was the crowds packed into rather informal setups in New York and London, it looked a bit 1970s.

London match plenty chose to stand than pay the extra money for a seat. It's one big party atmosphere that match with beer tents and all. Can anyone confirm if tickets was sold at the gate in New York? those days are meant to be over but Connacht GAA were saying otherwise.
