Armagh must be playing shite. Apparently being cleaned out by Laois MF... Ours 'can't run' according to Laois radio station covering it.

It's games like this where you miss Mal Mackin and Charlie Vernon, for all their faults.

Was it Johnny Adair that said he enjoyed all the attention of being 'Irish' when abroad. These people are funny.

Mine's called Portadown Tir Na Nog (The land where youth are not particularly beautiful but are perpetually involved in sectarian tussles).I know of no other club with this name ;D

To this day i have never met any Portadown people who can pronounce the name of their own club properly. They can all sing Rebel songs and obviously deem that to be more important than a basic understanding of our mother tongue.

My own club is Ballyhegan Davitts, located just outside Loughgall in County Armagh and represents the Parish of Kilmore Named after Michael Davitt.

It wouldn't just be for Ulster supporters. Breiffne would be a lot more accessible for Sligo, Mayo, Leitrim, Longford, etc.
I realise that. In the same way that Armagh/Newry would be a lot more accessible for Armagh, Antrim, Tyrone, Derry, Down, Louth etc.
Just don't see much point in hosting it in Ulster if it's going to be i one of the least accessible parts of the province!

How is it least accessible, Armagh to Cavan is an hour an 10 minutes, Armagh to Derry is 1 hour 35 minutes, Louth is an1  hour 20 minutes from Cavan. Cavan to Newy is 1-30minutes. That is still the same distance as Sligo and Roscommon both 1 hour -30 minutes give or take. Galway is 2 hours 10 minutes.

Is there latent partitionism afoot from some of our contributors?  :P
Is Cavan not "real " Ulster?

Anyway 32,000 capacity against 16/18/20 is surely the clincher here.
Just because Cavan is closer to Connacht does not make it more accessible! Galway had it a few years ago, that was hardly accessible to the whole of the island.
Newry is on the main aerterial route between the two major population centres on this island. Armagh is 20 mins away from that.

People will be more inclined to go to a game if it's just an hour driving on motorway/dual carriageway. If it's some oul trek across poorer roads they might not be as keen to travel!

PS if we're discussing partitionist attitudes, I do believe rodney trotter got upset at a so-called 'Northern' ref in the Ulster intermediate late last year!

Not that accessible would you not say? What's the point in having it in a 32,000 stadium when it will probably be half empty?

I would have thought the Athletic Grounds or Newry be the best bet. Why on earth have it in Breffni Park?

Cant believe that Newtown are down into Junior,  won the intermediate in 09 and playing senior last year
Hard to believe but they were relegated from Division 2 so arguably that is their level.

Few tasty draws in the Intermediate, looks competitive. I'd also expect the Ulster junior championship to be staying in Armagh, looking at the amount of teams that are in it.

Integrated schooling is a really nice concept but it would never work. For a start it would never be allowed to happen. I went to school in Newry, I'd like to see them explain how this would work for the four Catholic grammar schools there.

Would you agree that religion should be taught at home?
I would. It should also be taught at schools that promote a Catholic ethos - otherwise they wouldn't be doing their job. The fact that there are so many and the fact that they generally tend to outperform their 'Protestant' state counterparts forms IMO part of the reason Unionists are so keen for integrated schooling.

Societal problems can't be solved solely by changing the schooling system (though it might help to a certain degree). Have to agree with T Fearon. Go along to to your nearest bonfire during the next school summer holidays and see what's on offer there. People bring their kids to these things. See what they are brought up with. I don't know what integrated schooling is going to do to eradicate a mindset that is firmly ingrained with sectarianism.

I'd take him any day ahead of what's on offer on x-factor. At least he's keeping her country.

Donnelly and Mc Kaigue at midfield!!!  ::)
What's that for? When QUB play?

They were midfield for UUJ by the looks of it, Donnelly is usually a corner forward. Qub are playing the winners of UCD-Trinity which was called of. Would expect UCD to have too much for Trinity and also Queens.
Oh is that Mattie Donnelly? Thought him more of a half-forward. McKaigue plays defence am I correct?
Think St Mary's have a stronger than usual team this year, not sure what QUB are like. UCD would have too much for all teams would they not?

Fair play GHD. That doesn't feel like it was 4 years ago.
