Good article in the Irish Times in relation to Covid & border areas. Northern Irish Catholics come in for a hard time. Apparently its cultural for NI catholics to go against the grain. True in my experience, feral hoors  ;D
So Poots was right all along when he said only nationalists are getting covid  ;D

Whatís the initial costs and ongoing costs of a mobile home in places such as Bundoran/Downings etc? Do you have to buy the caravan and change every so often?

Depends really can be anything from 25k up to 40k and then having to replace it in 10 years as well as paying site fees from 1.5-2 per year. Also you can only use them for 6-7months of the year.

Crazy waiting lists for the good Parks 2-3 years.
My Aunt bought a top of the range mobile home in 2007, think it cost near 40k. It's really nice inside and out and still in top condition. Her site are making her get a new one as 15 years are up or they will terminate her contract. They also charge a ridiculous fee to move it off the site, and on top of moving costs it's not really an option to take it somewhere else. So you are faced with the choice of buying a new one or walking away and leaving your old one to the site owner.

Not a Man U fan but not on here for the usual slagging etc.  I'm really looking forward to seeing how Ronaldo goes and the hype that goes with it.  He'll provide a real boast.
My thoughts are with the manager.  Surely Ronaldo wasn't in his thoughts and as for plans with his other strikers this would definitely disrupt things.  I can't help but think a more experienced, successful manager such as a fergie, pep, klopp who have plans and are nit under as much pressure would not have taken Ronaldo on.  I am basing this on a few things
(i) the current strikers are going to be surely passed unless he clears some out quickly
(ii) it will disrupt any plans he has
(iii) Ronaldo getting no younger and will there a year or two

Any serious thoughts?
United aren't strong in his position. Cavani did a great job last year but I don't think he can give you 50 games anymore. Greenwood is an exceptional talent but he's only 19. Martial is useless and needs to go. So I think utd needed another striker and ronaldo was available, will guarantee at least 25 goals a year, is rarely injured, and didn't come with a ridiculous transfer fee, though I'm sure his wages are sky high

We need more info on this story. I read something on reddit about average survival times of adults in the north sea during summer and it was just over an hour, yet he managed to tread water for 12 hours.

According to google treading water burns about 11 calories per minute. This is equivalent to a 1 hour 10km run, but he did 12 of them! So about the equivalent of 3 marathons in a row at a decent pace.

Anyone travelled from UK(Belfast or London) to Spain/Portugal or Greece? Looking to go end of Sept/early Oct and want to get the ball rolling early on any tests needed etc. Both of us are double vac'd.
As mentioned above i went to Greece for honeymoon at start of August. To fly out you just need your vaccine certificate. The day before I flew home from Greece i got an antigen test in a local clinic for Ä20. Day after I got home I did the Randox day 2 test kit and dropped it in their drop box in Antrim town, cost of that was about £45 i think. You don't need the day 8 test as you are double vaxxed.

The biggest pain was getting the vaccine passport as NI Direct wouldn't verify my account, i didn't get it until the first day of my holiday so i also needed a pre departure test, my wife got her vaccine cert so she didn't need it and just did the tests above.

I've been charged with the COVID tests for a trip to Portugal in September.

Haven't been able to find an Antigen test available in the North that is on the EU approved list and isn't extortionate so looks like we'll be going with the Randox PCR test pre departure and day 2 which means having to travel and drop off the tests which hopefully won't be a major hassle I suppose.

Has anyone used the QURED test while away? One of the lads being very cautious and wants to head into town to get a PCR test to be sure to be sure but I don't think it's necessary and it would be much easier if we could all do our test in where we're at.
I went to Greece a few weeks ago and used the Randox Antigen pre departure test. Think it was £45 and you go to the city airport to get it, results back in an hour.

'Messi has only won trophies in one county' soon wont be a valid argument for picking Ronaldo in this debate.
Still valid as domestic trophy's with PSG don't really count for much.

Really, Juventus were more dominant in their league when Ronaldo joined than PSG are in France.  Didn't Juventus win 9 in a row last year?
Serie A is still much stronger than ligue 1 and ronaldo won the Ballon d'or, CL, and multiple PL at utd.

Great to see, am I right in saying he wasn't a big underage gaelic star? Did he play for Derry underage? How did he get selected for AFL?

I'm not huge on the amount of Covid restrictions in place in this country over the last 6 months, however I find what the English government are currently doing is totally insane & dangerous. A former work colleague of mine (as fit as a fiddle in his early 50's) is currently in ISU in a very bad way. Are the English off their heads or what, nightclubs packed to the rafters in doors is surely going to lead to disaster, vaccinated or not.

COVID-19 is never going to go away. We can't live like prisoners for another couple of years.

I would accept that, but is the English approach not too much to soon.

It's been too long in my opinion. Now with the roll out of the vaccines if we can't ease restrictions now when will we ever be able to? What else can be done?
Exactly, when is it not too soon? What are the criteria?

Looks like Armagh's keeper Hughes is out with Covid. Big big loss.
What on earth would he get tested for in championship week??

Why on Earth would somebody post this???
Would you not say fuckall and play the game?

I would suspect (or at least hope) Armagh18 is a young lad.
And maybe have 10 miss the final!
Canít miss it if you donít get testedÖ
Maybe he was feeling like shit and rather than risk giving the whole squad covid he thought it would be better to get tested and step away if positive?

Forgetting the whys and wherefores of vaccinations etc. I would like to know what is deemed as a better alternative? I have no idea what is perceived to be a(viable) way out that's not a vaccine.

The UK way is to open everything up and let people get Covid by transmission.
It's f**king stupid.
It risks creating a new variant.

Exactly and then we run the further risk of current vaccinations not working on any new strains...

It's a big gamble and it looks like its being taken to give the hospitality sector a chance of getting some money in before the winter hits.

With this logic we will never ever open up. Vaccines are always behind variants. We need to get on with it.

All those players were good when playing with good intelligent foreign midfielders but couldnít dictate a game on their own. Lampard needed makele, gerrard Alonso, Barry probably wasnít at that level and even scholes had Keane etc. You could even say the same for terry carvalho, Ferdinand vidic etc. A friend of mine maintains that English players arenít educated in tactics the way players are in the continent. There could be something in it. They never produce midfielders that can dominate possession and a game.
When Scholes had Keane he was more attacking, when Keane retired Scholes dictated many games in the PL and CL, sitting deep taking passes off ferdinand and spraying passes. He retired in 04 from international football as Sven was playing him left wing. Capello asked him to the 2010 wc but he turned him down. I think he would have been the answer to England problem in 2010 if he had returned.

Terrible penalty decision. Terrible penalty. Right result.

Canít help thinking England would have steamrollered this tournament with an attacking manager.
Can't help but think they'd go the way of most other England teams with a more attacking manager, trying to fit all the best players in the same starting 11 and not creating a balanced team probably going in round of 16. Southgate has done a great job and carries himself very well.
