Quote from: Armagh18 on March 04, 2026, 09:35:10 PMGood night for Arsenal; could be a great night for United with Villa and Liverpool dropping points. Would need to buck up here though because you wouldnt think they have an extra man.
I'm sure they'll keep playing for them to score a goal.

£1.25/L in some places! Mental stuff.

More worryingly I have no summer holiday booked yet and if the airlines start putting the arm in due to aviation fuel price rises I might not bother this year or just wait until nearer the time and see what way things are.

You wouldnt know if its pumped or stuffed. Man hasnt watched Wolves recently.
Broken clock springs to mind.

This Liverpool team are as flaky as f**k. I thought we were past the years of being up for the big games and shitting it against relegation fodder.

Just when you think you have heard it all, something like this crops up.

I'm assuming that it must fall under the general heading of "my human rights" that you are granted some sort of legal aid to argue such bullshit out, in front of a judge?
She's probably from a protected community. Who else would put such importance in First Communion.

Quote from: DaleCooper on March 02, 2026, 11:07:50 PMRubio basically admitted truth of early reports that the Israelis launched the air raids themselves picked up phone to US and said "you coming?" Forced their hand.

In a nutshell. Rubios justification being that if Iran is attacked it would retaliate against US targets in the area. LOL absolutely humiliating.

The US admin is shellshocked to an extent as they are attempting to claim this was their idea. Written on their faces and confused messaging emerging.

Finding out the hard way that Iran are not Venezuela.

True, Jarlath hasn't been great.
I think that's being kind. A lot of people confused his ability as an orator with potential ability to run the Association. He's not done yet but a couple of big speeches in HQ and the 2 pointer wouldn't be much of a legacy. Unfortunately for him most of his headlines were for sticking his nose into Rory Gallagher's business, and more recently backing Allianz.

Quote from: playwiththewind1st on February 26, 2026, 08:26:14 PMHow many court cases have you seen involving asylum seekers where they don't even know the proper age of the defendants?

They're dumping their paperwork and their phones, before arrival; no-one actually knows where they've originally come from, their proper age, correct name, previous criminal record, mental health history, nothing. They can tell the authorities any story they want & I would love to know what verification process is undertaken to establish identity, given the obvious difficulties.

It's an utter disaster waiting to happen & it's little wonder that people are getting uptight about it.
Given how women are treated in their own country these cases are not surprising in the slightest.

Quote from: playwiththewind1st on February 26, 2026, 07:29:03 PMParts of South Belfast have become a complete dumping ground........the ready availability of HMOs being the main reason.
Absolutely. The landlords and BCC have been turning it into a slum. It was a shithole when I was in it in the late 90s but it was only culchie students and local residents then. It's now a du.ping ground for immigrants, druggies and assorted wasters as well as students. If I had a daughter I wouldn't let her near the place. Those Somali lads should be dropped off in their homeland from 30000 feet.

Huntley, 52, was airlifted to hospital after he was ambushed at HMP Frankland, County Durham, at around 9am on Thursday.

The killer, who suffered head injuries in the assault, was allegedly attacked with a spiked metal pole after in the prison workshop.

It marks the third time Huntley has been attacked by fellow inmates in jail.
Third time lucky hopefully.

Three men in court jointly accused of raping woman in Belfast

Three men appeared in court today jointly accused of raping a woman in Belfast.

Hassan Mohamud, 35, Abdrihman Abdihakim Ali, 21, and Rotimi Adeyemo, 55, were arrested by detectives investigating an alleged serious sexual assault on Monday.

All three men entered the dock at Belfast Magistrates' Court to be charged with a count of rape.

Although no details about the circumstances were disclosed during the brief hearing, an investigating detective said he could connect each of them to the alleged offence.

Mohamud and Ali, both Somali nationals with an address at Agincourt Avenue in the city, were granted bail on agreed terms.

District Judge Suzanne Rice ordered the pair to stay at approved accommodation and banned them from any contact with the complainant.

Adeyemo, originally from Nigeria but living at Canterbury Street in Belfast, did not make an application for bail.
The court was told that his release on licence in a separate case has now been revoked.

Judge Rice remanded him in custody until March 25, when the case against all three men will be reviewed.

Bail! Always bail for the most horrific attacks, (including rape) on women. Is like judges have no regard here for women even when evidence is compelling and bail is strongly opposed by police. Whether foreign or local defendants. Total bullsh*t.
If the cnuts had to be arrested by armed police they shouldn't be allowed back on the street.

Quote from: joemo on February 25, 2026, 08:40:51 AMThe band I regret not seeing more than any other. Their first 3 albums are amazing, and it's hard to pick just 3 tracks.

White Man in Hammersmith Palais. Disillusionment with the punk scene, social commentary, reggae infused punk.

Guns Of Brixton - great lyrics and an ever better bassline (sampled on Dub Be Good To Me).

London Calling - apocalyptic.
I wouldn't know much stuff from The Clash beyond the famous stuff. I stuck on Spotify in the car and it annoyed me where that had been sampled! Straight to He'll definitely has been sampled in a modern song but I'm refusing to Google it.

After reading this I put on Spotify and yeh straight away I got the song.. Paper Planes, never knew tune that was from a song previously
That's the one! Annoyed me on the drive into work.
