Saturday was very disappointing. Down a level ahead re pace, power, defensive setup and looked a better coached team to be frank.

Laois tried their best but are limited. Add in the fact that Larkin, Barry, Murphy and a few more arent available for whatever reasons and you are up against it. Portlaoise for the size and footballing tradition should have more starting and involved but thats for another day.

Hopefully the green shoots that we are seeing in the schools starts to bear fruition and the local championship unearths some new players.

Huge win tonight against our bogey team over the years. Ignoring the Wexford game, Laois are motoring nicely and the new lads are putting their hands up. Hopefully they can finish out the league well and bring some momentum into the championship

Good to have Kirwan back, brings great pace and power. Galvin a good foil for Evan inside, good ball winner and can pop over a few scores too. Just need to tighten up at the back but all in all, a great evening

Piggott and Murphy from Port another too. Turnover a big issue for divisions 3 and 4 sadly

Thats great redsanta, some great work going on at Knockbeg. What we need is Portlaoise, Mountmellick and Port to be playing at higher levels and competing in the later stages of competitions. This then feeds into county panels.

We really need to up the representation on the Sigerson panels too, I thought (might be mistaken) that LOETB was working with the minor panels which would have helped in this regard

Great to see Sean Dempsey back working with the minors, he should have been brought back years ago, need all hands on deck to help the underage get back competitive.

Also great that Laois Gaels are announcing the underage squads, great to see what clubs are represented

Anyone at the match yesterday? We'll need to tighten up the middle, conceding goals our achilles heel the last fee years. Great to see Evan back, hopefully kicks on and has a hold run

Port sort a new manager yet?

Port still looking for a replacement for Roe, be interesting to see who'll come in as there'll be the team to beat next year if they can keep most of the team together. Turlogh staying on with Portlaoise? They'll be in transition, need to bring through the younger lads

Anyone know who from Portlaoise is in with Laois?

Popped into O Moore Park last night, Port finished strong when Heath were making a game of it. Heath were poor enough bar some good long range kicking from their number 11. What age is he? They gave away 2 sloppy goals.

You'd fancy Port to get stronger as their players return but will need to imrpove to challenge again. The corner back Corcoran looks a tidy player.

Is it possible to get a panel list by names and clubs for all underage teams? Interested to know who is representing

Maybe this could have its own topic. Great to see Louth win, with Dublin in transition and not dominating at underage, Leinster could be interesting over the next number of year. Louth senior and u20 champions and minors could make it a clean sweep. Anyone in the know what they did to get their house in order? Remarkable when you think their 2 biggest towns are predominantly soccer towns too. Just shows hard work, the right structures and right people in places and you'll make progress.

Good win for Laois against Waterford, bigger tests to come but Tailteann cup all about momentum
