Fantastic supporter of Laois GAA and particularly Portlaoise GAA.

I've read various posts describing how he acquired both Fr Browne Avenue and Rathleague after all the hassle involved in the falling through of the original sale.

How did this all come about/work?

Moran could be very transfer friendly as people are eliminated & Fleming gets elected with a surplus.
The independent councillors canvassing with Aisling are very popular and very influential in their own communities.

Portlaoise will elect somebody.
Under normal circumstances they could elect two.
I think there will be a higher degree of transfer between Aird & Stanley than the national trend of FG/SF.

I don't think SF have a seat here.
I don't think Stack has any chance.
Poor choice given that they should have somebody lined up to replace Fleming at the next election.

Related note. Listening to the Laois Today podcasts. If Helen Campion is the calibre of person that SF has to run in local elections!
She doesn't even seem to understand how elections/government formation works!
