A Semi finals

Na Fianna Og v Stradbally
Portarlington V Killeshin.

Mountmellick finished with zero points so I assume they just didn't bother fulfilling the last game. Not a great look though.

Fair play to Courtwood they really made a game of it. They beat Portlaoise and St Joes so they deserved to be there and they could very well have lifted the cup.
You would wonder though, as is mostly the case, if they left their chance behind them. Very often replays end up going to the favourite and the intensity and competitiveness of the first game doesn't materialise.
Hopefully this won't be the case and it's another good contest.

Just listened to the first 3 podcasts and they were very informative. There appears to be lots of work going on with both primary schools and 1st and 2nd year in secondary schools. Posters on here have been crying out for this kind of thing to be happening in schools for a long time.
Jaysus some of ye are just bitter having a snipe at the podcast. It's 30 minutes long FFS. In fairness their contact numbers are there and Keegan said himself you can call him if you have any feedback - good or bad.

Final on tonight at 7.30pm.

Park will probably start as favourites but it should be a very tight game and an Arles win wouldn't be a shock by any means. Their defense will be tighter that Ballylinan's and they have to be wary of Parks goal threat.

They played in the first round which Park shaded but a final can turn up the unexpected. Hopefully there's a decent crowd at it.

Haven't had time to listen to it yet but I can't see how it's a bad thing if they take an hour out of their week to do a podcast.

As Ogie says we're always curious as to how underage squads, schools teams etc are doing and when games are on so I would welcome it if that's the jist of the pod.

Showing scant regard for the intermediate final. Think it's been the case for a couple of years now.

At the very least it should be a Saturday evening to give people time if they have to travel to get to the game.

Final will be a repeat of the first round clash between Arles and Park which Park won.

Ballylinan blown away in the first half.

Arles 6 points down half way through the second half but got over the line in the end. Kilcavan will be kicking themselves but fair play to Arles they stuck at it and Meaney played a big part when he came on. 6 points from play for young McElroy lad was some going for an 18 year old.

Final in O'Moore Park Friday evening Sept 26th.

I don't think there's very much between any of the teams left in it.

They would all fancy their chances on a given day.

Arles/Kilcruise win over Mountmellick gives them great momentum as it was a big win. Good contributions by the elder statesmen Munnelly and Meaney and they have some very good young lads coming through.

Ballylinan should have enough to get over Park.

Would be an interesting Parish final if it happens.

Arles fortunate enough to get over the line against Portlaoise yesterday.

Won by a point with the winner coming from a free awarded for the 3 back rule because Brody went on one of his solo runs and no extra portlaoise player stayed back.

It was the second time they were pulled up for this and they were lucky to get away for a similar infringement prior to the last minute one.

Arles started brightly in the first half and let by 8 points at one stage but let Portlaoise in for a couple of sloppy goals.
Tough game next against Mountmellick and likely to be down a couple of players.

Fair play to Graigue on their win.

The big thing for Graigue is to repeat that sort of a performance/result at the business end of the championship and get to a final and win one.

Same as senior.

The four losers drawn against each other, same with winners.

I wouldn't be well informed about the club hurling down home. Looking at the predictions for upcoming games it's notable how many are predicted to be big wins.
Are the days of closely run championships gone? The increase in the amount of clubs in senior hasn't helped however it doesn't bode well if games are being won by such margins.
