Jaysus . Imagine the equivalent of his role from Offaly efc pulling the same stroke . Disappointing but not hugely surprising.

Quote from: les Antiques on September 02, 2025, 02:05:12 PMNiall Corcoran time with Laois has ended for a second time as he  has joined Eddie Brennan on the Kilkenny coaching ticket .

What Kilkenny ticket are they on?

Lyng's was reappointment until the end of 2027 and it was also mentioned that Brennan and Corcoran are new additions to his backroom team, with Michael Rice and Peter O'Donovan remaining part of the ticket .

As mentioned above there is very little between the remaining 4 teams.

Arles have gained monementum particularly after the Mountmellick result.  Kilcavan though seem to offer more continuity across the pitch.  Fancy them to sneak it .
I expect the other match to be a fiesty affair . Park without Simon Fingelton have been very dogged and hard to beat.
Ballylinan have recovered brilliantly after that first day mauling.
Could be a cracker .

They will be there or thereabouts . Not a lot between 3/4 teams . Not sure what's going on in Ballylinan.
Simon Fingelton huge loss for Park but new rules seem to suit them .

Annanough v Kilcavan, Mountmellick v Park and Timahoe v Ballylinan potentially all close encounters this weekend.
Surely there will be a reaction from Ballylinan .

Aaron Dunphy won't be starting.  Nowhere near the fit enough.  Will be great to introduce with 15/20 left .

5pm Saturday in Mullingar. Hope we bring a decent following.  The lads deserve it . There's a nice squad of players coming together.

Quote from: Laois Rising on May 20, 2025, 01:30:46 PMThat was 1999. Year before, had the winning of the game against Kilkenny but froze with finish line in slight and Ken O'Shea scored 1-1 to win it at the death. The team was in decline though by 99. Despite that a huge Laois support travelled to the game with optimism. I remember a sideline ball by Andy Comerford being dropped into the net by Ricky Cashin in the first few minutes of the game and that completely took the wind out of the Laois sails. It was one way traffic after that despite Niall Rigney being head and shoulders the best player on the field. It was unfortunate that a very decent Laois hurling side in the 90s never won a championship game in that decade. They had some notable league wins in that time but just didn't have the rub of the green in championship.

Yes I recall them losing to Kilkenny in 95, again Rigney and Declan Conroy were outstanding for Laois but could just not get it over the line.

Ah 1995 for me was the one . Blistering hot day in Carlow . Dermondy making an outstanding save from Fint Lalor in the dying seconds  when we were 2 down and whistle about to be blown . Some performance that day . Remember being behind the goal and thinking it was in . Heartbreaking

That was deflating today . Everything about that was grim. That is  a full strength Senior Hurling panel . A bad day for Laois hurling .

Well done to the Seniors tonight.  Nice to see us finishing the job after struggling somewhat in the latter parts of the league.
Nothing to fear against Louth .
