Heard some chat that Mullaney was going abroad in the summer. Hoping the timing of that doesn't affect his ability to commit. Didn't see him at the Offaly match, all the same.


In the 'absent' category, Macca is one that would be no harm to have, I'd have thought. The others have probably given their best by now, and I don't think Obular has the hurling for inter-county level.

agree with the above, although J kelly of R/E would surely be a  big addition, he wouldn't be that old? I don't know if he's not committed or wasn't asked back in, but i would have him in.

Jack Kelly's form for the County has been pretty average since Eddie Brenanns first year in charge. 
Don't think he is a huge loss.
Mullaney would be a loss if he's not around for championship.

Hard to see pitches playable for games this week shocking rain falling.

Match Thursday in C/B moved to COE in Portlaoise.

Experimental team Wednesday night by all accounts.  Interesting to see how McNultys tactics have changed since his last stint with us .

Good to hear of Lee cleere returning. Not sure of the panel mKe up but there are plenty of lads that might not be available which will weaken what we could potentially have. I understand Paddy Purcell is unlikely to return. Jack Kelly has not been asked back. Ross king is currently not with the squad and uncertainty around his future. James keyes is in America and would be a big loss if he stays out there. Cha Dwyer and Sean Downey are still abroad, not sure if they will he around either. PJ Scully is not part of the panel for 2024 either. A couple of others we could do with are Ciaran McEvoy, Eanna Lyons etc.
On the positives Picky Maher and Willie dunphy are back along with a few youngsters like cathal and Tom cuddy, David dooley, jer quinlan, Aaron phelan and a couple more. Also heard that Mark kavanagh might be making a return.
We will need them all, westmeath and an up and coming offaly will be hard bet. Be great to get to a mcdonagh final and a day out in croker.

There can no excuses this year about players not been the opportunity to play for the County . A vast of amount of players with no inter County experience been given the chance at that moment .

Heard this evening Healy potentially done ACL again for the 3rd time. Hope it isn't true.

Very good two points tonight against a pretty disappointing Armagh team who briefly showed up at the start of the second half.  Nevertheless it's clear to see there's plan and structure in place and Quirke has them motoring along nicely even if it's only February. 
Byrne and Timmons were excellent and O'Carroll seems to be prospering as our marquee forward with Donie off the Scene. 
People are going on about the pitch been bare etc . What do we expect ? O 'Moore Park has been blatantly overused the past 24 months with every possible club  senior football and hurling championship match been played there . Throw in the numerous inter-county games . It clearly needs attention and some  rest time. 
Our support is embarrassing.  As said before the Laois players deserve a lot better .

Wouldn't read too much into last Sunday . The first game of any National League can be erratic with results and performances .
Two home matches on the horizon against Armagh and Cavan . If we Manage two wins it would go long way in securing Division 2 status . Armagh are on a high after demoishing Cavan . Can see Saturday night being a high scoring affair .

Beat Tipp in a challenge last weekend quite well with Lillis doing quite well in the full forward line with the mark .
Brody , Benny Carroll , Healy and Dillon all on the panel for the league .
Tomorrow will be difficult particularly if Roscommon come out of the blocks flying .

Don't think we could have asked for a tougher start in two weeks . Roscommon have some serious forwards who tend to prosper in the league . It's going to be interesting to see the make up of our full back line .

Great to have Healy back, a huge boost if he gets back fully fit.

I'm not sure and I hope I'm wrong . Healy hasn't played much football at inter county level the last few years and nowadays you just don't jump straight back into gear after been Away that long regardless of how well you look after yourself. Especially at the age of 32.
Its going to be very tough for him . I really hope I'm wrong.
