Last year, well before Ireland were drawn against Israel, the FAI's general assembly voted overwhelmingly to forward a motion to Uefa, calling for Israel to be excluded from all club and international competitions.

Quote from: DaleCooper on June 11, 2026, 08:09:01 PMBig talk from Big Mouth who promised bombing nightly and taking Kharg Island

Then he declares agreement made with many countries and the US is holding fire for now.

Meanwhile the diplomats reply.

Iran directly rejects Trump's new claim that he reached an agreement to "cancel tonight's strikes" on Iran as "baseless," saying no agreement has been approved at all, and all of Trump's words should be disregarded like all his previous "38 times" deal-imminent announcements over two months, per Tasnim.

A senior Israeli official also tells Channel 12 they are "not aware of any agreement being reached".

Its amazing what is going on
Trump is all hat and no cattle. He needs to find a way out that looks good. Inflation is at 4.2% , up from 2.4% in February and he was elected to bring inflation down. Of course he also promised no war.

Quote from: johnnycool on June 11, 2026, 08:22:51 AMIn a two horse race if both are bought off by APAIC and supported by the Zionist media moguls then that 60% don't really have a choice.

Step out of APAIC control, openly voice resistance to Israel's genocide and you will get the full wrath of that establishment.

#AIPAC  Vs. #Democracy ..." Jewish  financial control over key institutions in domestic & #global affairs is a powerful anti-Semitic trope that has historically led to violent scapegoating"

At some point it will stop. If 60% of people are not listened to , new candidates will emerge.

Even 57% of Republicans aged 18 to 49 now disfavor Israel"

God bless Bibi?

Won't matter.

AIPAC will grease the palms of their politicians to keep spending US tax dollars to fund Israels wars.

Just as Thomas Massie.

60% of Americans have an unfavourable view of Israel. Below 50 it's 84% of Democrats and 57% of Republicans. AIPAC is in trouble. Ron Lauder wants the Jewish lobby to spend 1 billion dollars on pro Israel marketing. I don't think they can close Pandora's box.

I wonder who in UEFA is supporting Israel despite the genocide in Gaza and apartheid in the West Bank.
Probably the Germans and the Dutch and maybe the Hungarians. Any others? Bernard O'Byrne tried to get the basketball teams onside and he got backing in private but nobody would take a stand when it was official.
Most countries have 70% unfavourable attitude to Israel but in most cases eg Australia, UK , Ireland the governing elite is anti rocking the boat and effectively pro Israel. UEFA is the same. So the Israel games go ahead.

An appalling decision.

Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald said: "Our motion supports the Stop the Game campaign - the call is quite clear for the game not to proceed in Ireland or anywhere.

"There is no support for our national team to play, under our tricolour, against Israel while there is a genocide ongoing," she said.

Socials Democrats Spokesperson on Sport Sinéad Gibney said: "Moving the fixture is an attempt to brush this under the rug - and will deny the Irish people an opportunity to engage in peaceful protest," said the Dublin Rathdown TD.

She said: "It also doesn't change the fact that this game should not be played. Ireland should be not facilitating the sportswashing of a nation which has been committing war crimes for nearly three years.

"I am also very concerned about the pressure that this decision will put on players and I would again appeal to the government and the FAI to intervene."

Those behind the 'Stop the Game' campaign say they will continue to push for the Ireland-Israel matches not to go ahead.

"This shameful cop-out by the FAI will not deter our campaign in the least," the group said in a statement.

"Moving the fixture to Budapest is no more acceptable than going ahead with the 1981 rugby games against apartheid South Africa would have been had they been moved to a neutral venue.

"Our message for the FAI and government will continue to grow louder: Not here, not anywhere. No game."

Christian Eriksen  collapsed on the pitch during a friendly between Denmark and Ukraine in Odense, but regained consciousness and walked off the field.

The former Manchester United and Tottenham midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest during the European Championship in 2021, collapsing on the field in the match against Finland in Copenhagen.

C
The scary incident saw Eriksen stretchered off after receiving emergency treatment on the pitch.

Eriksen was fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator which meant his career was able to continue, signing for Brentford in January 2022 after his contract at Inter Milan was cancelled.

There has now been another terrifying moment for Eriksen on Sunday evening as the 34-year-old collapsed in the second half of the match against Ukraine.

Danish outlet TipsBladet described the situation in their live coverage, reporting: 'Scary scenes in Odense. Christian Eriksen fell into the grass and lay completely still. He is now receiving treatment.'

Players from both sides immediately rushed over to the fallen star, with medical staff and the player's wife quickly onto the field.

Eriksen regained consciousness shortly afterwards and a matter of minutes later he was back on his feet to great applause in the stadium.

The match was obviously paused and then it was abandoned, with both sets of players leaving the field.

Russia currently is in a precarious position — they don't have many options," he says. "They don't have a path to prevail."

In an evening address this month Zelenskyy sought to capture the sense that the war is shifting. "Our long-range capabilities are significantly changing the situation and, more broadly, the world's perception of Russia's war," he said.

Putin is now in a 'must win' situation. And there is no reason to believe he is getting any closer to his owns aims. He has now resorted to concern-trolling the World economy in relation to Russian Sanctions. Russian assets are now struggling to sell not only due to sanctions, but also thanks to Russian internal policy whereby the state can simply take assets from their owners (and then nobody wants to buy it for fear of losing it at the stroke of a pen).

I agree. He has to win. The next few months will be key.

A good result for Galway. It was important to beat Dublin in style.
Good progress.

Ukraine are winning the drone war.

UK intelligence are saying that Russian losses and injured have reached 500,000.
