Jeez a lot of those bands mentioned bring it back.
Kerbdog from Kilkenny worth a mention to
There's a man with a mullet going mad with a mallet in Millets

Substandard

Glad to see Whipping Boy featuring,  When we were young and We don't need nobody else, and Twinkle,  are dynamite lyrics and melodies that stand the test of time.
JJ72 had one great album,  they supported U2 in Slane, and came out into the pit when U2 were on- my first experience of being starstruck standing near Hilary!!

There was a mid-80s Sligo band - Those Nervous Animals - that had an Irish hit with My Friend John.

Minor Detail - had one biggish hit in 1983 with Canvas of Life. Two brothers.

Mamas Boys but the death of the drummer big cause of them Stopping early.

Great musicians be it hard rock or traditional Irish. Pat McManus kept a lot entertained with his virtual performances during the pandemic.

In Tua Nua. Great group. They deserved more success than they got. Some great footage of them from Self Aid in 1985 on YouTube. Pearl of Dreams in particular is as good a tune as you'd hear anywhere in my opinion

Saw in Croke Park in 1985 supporting U2. Every young lad, myself included, had a crush on Leslie Dowdall. Great band.
If I remember correctly the line up was: In Tua Nua, REM, The Alarm, Squeeze and U2

Les Enfants, think I recall a cassette tape knocking about our house back in the mid 80s.
