Some of you may have seen the avalanche report out in Truckee/Tahoe which is close to where I live. Scandalous decision making by the tour guides and the back skiiers themselves. Avalanche warning in place since Sunday AM and they still took a chance on Tuesday. One of the rescue team found their spouse amongst the deceased. Heartbreaking stuff

We've had about a foot and a half at my house, perhaps around 5600ft above sea level. Donner pass expected to receive around 4ft

I'd heard that the rescue team was searching for the spouse of one of their own, but didn't realise that it was they who actually found them.

The Donner Pass and Donner Party always fascinates me in a macabre sort of way.

Storm Dave has arrived and just took 20 minutes of strong wind for the electricity to go. 

To update storm gone and power restored after two hours gone.

We'd nothing of any note, more just pissing rain and some wind but wasn't anything that was reported before yesterday.

Was in Belfast last night and the place was bunged, needless to say the women didn't read the weather forecast as wearing next to nothing is normal for storms!

I was thinking that myaelf last night. Some big gusts. Maybe the weather stations have run out of diesel.
And its fecking freezing.
