I've never understood the hatred some people have for cats, or the intolerance that some dog people have for people who don't share their passion for hounds.

I can't stand dogs, myself. I grew up getting chased by the feckers on my bike. Some owners made no effort to secure them and it meant some roads were no-go areas for anyone on foot or on bikes. There was one road near Lurgan that I rode down one day on the way to the lakes, and I heard some footsteps behind me. It was a giant Alsatian sprinting at me and it started barking. At least on the bike I was able to sprint and get away, but if I'd been on foot or there were small children walking past it doesn't bear a lot of thinking about. I've had plenty of similar encounters and unprovoked attacks.

Dogs in California are a bit better behaved because the owners aren't allowed to let them out of control, but occasionally you get one careless cretin in the park. I was out for a run in a park one evening and a pit-bull came out of nowhere ready to kill me. I freaked out and ran off, and the owner said the usual "he won't bite you" while she came running over trying to get the stupid thing under control.

Nothing as annoying as being out minding your own business only to be set upon by one of these dangerous animals for no reason. Put "dog mauled" into a Google news search and there's never any shortage of stories of people being attacked and in some cases killed by dogs.

Just watched the first episode of Blue Lights. First impressions are that it is very good with some excellent casting. The action scenes appear authentic.
Unfortunately it slightly drifts into a problems solved by a former social worker plot.
Nevertheless it has the potential to address the problems the cops face every day working in predominately nationalist/sceptical areas.
From a purely visual standpoint, the main character has a lot in common with the lead in Happy Valley.

Get the cat to identify as a dog and there won't be a cat shitting in your garden anymore.

Ramsdale made a couple of crucial saves yesterday.
Totally agree. He is like Jans Lehman. Reliable and under appreciated. It is only when we look back that we will see how good he was

Terrific premiere for The Last of Us.
Agreed. Best pilot episode since Breaking Bad.

When we all die, will the gaaboard survive? I think we need to offer scholarships and the like.
Sounds like a suicide pact. I'm in as long as I can be one of the survivors.

The DUP thread seems to have disappeared, or my search skills have gone to sh:te. I was't enamoured of the title but it was a useful place to gather various examples of prejudice.

I would have posted this. Back in the day the DUP were boycotting Bushmills as they were sponsoring the GAA, presumably Antrim.

In a United Ireland a DUP thread would be oppressed by the republican hordes.
Maybe not a bad thing.

Arsenal switched off at 3-0 and have nearly paid the price. Very fortunate the Brighton 3rd goal was ruled offside.

If it was offside then Arsenal were not fortunate. If it wasn't offside then VAR is rubbish. Luck has nothing to do with it.

While I am enjoying this seasons title challenge. I think it may be a year too early. That is why Arsenal have to offer William Saliba a contract he cant refuse, to put a stop to all the PSG rumours currently floating about.

I was on this road this morning. Am I  a bad person because my first thoughts when I heard this was I hope I don't know any of these people as I don't think I can handle it?

Without the publicity of the internet/social media, this is just a sad weirdo sending his shit to an innocent victim. We should let them sit at home worrying about being caught rather than validating their actions by sharing what they have done.

We have always had cocktail sausages with our Christmas dinner, but not wrapped in bacon as it sometimes raised an argument about whether Jesus was circumscised or not.
