That is supposed to be the way of it, but Football Development Sub Committee due to update County Committee in June about plans going forward. This may include restructuring....but it should be for 2028 !

Would be unfair to change it given half way through the league. Would surely need to have communicated that change before league started. But wouldn't be suprised. I guess it depends on what clubs finish in bottom 4.

This may be a little bit insignificant given the other issues on this thread, however I have been trying to incorporate different exercises into my life and have been trying to lift some weights, problem is my back tweaks when I try to do row lifts etc, is it possible to do weights which will help with upper body strength without focusing on the back?

It is easy and an excuse to say we got what we expected, what did Westmeath expect yesterday when they were preparing to play the hot favourites for Leinster, go down expecting nothing and then to see Doran standing giving interviews after the game with a smile on his face tells you all you need to know of the preparation and mindset going into the game

I can't see them reducing Div 1 from 16 but it would be unfair should they reduce it to 14 or even 12.

KK like him or not is without doubt our go to man marker

As a footballer, KK is easily our best man marker, by a stretch. He was moved on to No 15 last weekend and wiped him out. Prior to that McAuley was on him and 15 was scoring for fun. Keenan is fast, strong, aggressive and  uncompromising, he is just what is needed in a full back player in this new game.

its a bit of everything  - everything needs to be done well and done well consistently over time.  The schools arent the deciding factor but they give a polish and another few percent.

Every club is different and has their own personalities and pros and cons that affect how they can approach things.    One poster mentioned Dunloy having 63 kids in P1 and are an outstanding club model now in both codes. On the flip side I  would suggest Creggan, Cargin and Moneyglass wouldnt have 63 P1s in their parish between them yet are competing at senior level individually.

Some clubs have a good coach for a couple of years and then a vacuum afterwards.  Others get a natural bunch of outstanding talent which masks the shitshow above and below.

Consistency of good practice can only bring its rewards but it is not a quick fix. Too many kids cast adrift at 12 because they are too small and too many of our clubs are hoping for that quick fix.  i go to a lot of underage football and it is apparent which clubs put the effort in and which don't.  This may sound mad in 2026 but simple things like having a pitch ready or a set of jerseys are not givens.

Consistent good effort year after year will eventually pay off - though it takes time. It cant be intermittent.

Cheers I think that is his plan, however I think its just mad that people work hard and get put into a corner, the £100k is not handed to him, puts in long hours, lots of trips away and leads a modest lifestyle.

My son just told me as he has got an inflation pay rise to bring him over £100k he now loses help with childcare etc- so his £2700 payrise is actually costing him £5000. Where is the incentive for people to better themselves

Been there, a great spot, however be careful to check you are not travelling during storm season as some of the storms can get pretty rough

Many years ago working in a volatile industry with lots of young people in an 'professional' environment, however dominated by money, drugs, drinks and s*x, the Christmas parties were to say the least fun. The one that sticks out the most was just after the meal there was one guy throwing up on the corner of the dance floor, another young lady shouting and crying at one of the older married managers and shouting 'you can't just f*ck me and chuck me' all topped off two lads clumping the head off each other 30 mins later. I decided to leave it at that point and went for a few quiet pints round the local social club

When you put it away for the winter what do you do about the first cut of the season next year?

I got the Segway X315E in July this year and it has been brilliant. I have about 1000m2 of grass in two lawns, one of which has a decent enough slope and the other has several big trees. I just let it map the boundary itself and mapped where the septic tank is as a no-go area and gave it a route between the two lawns. It avoids the trees no bother. I had it cutting every second day with the weekends off. So far it has mowed 28.5Km2 and the app reckons it has saved me 141 hours. I need to bring it in for the winter soon but I think it will need one more cut at least. It cost me €2550.
