QuoteA  week or so ago , the 3G signal  was switched off.

I've ordered a replacement  4G compatible Nokia phone (yet to arrive). But  the old Nokia seems to  still  be working fine. No issues with  texts or calls.

Was this "switch off"  a big  con to move  everyone onto smartphones... unnecessarily?

Text messages and phone calls do not use a data connection, only regular cellular.
So a phone upgrade wasn't necessary then?

Quote from: DaleCooper on January 21, 2026, 10:23:27 AMKerry embraced the advice of the average bar stool pundit as regards 2 pointers and it worked a treat. So obvious yet many coaches still went with caution.

Was v impressive how they went about it, though not sure I enjoy Clifford reduced to "one touch over the bar" finisher.

Awful stuff. Like  Charlie Smyth coming on to kick a  point in American football

I seen the point taken  off the scoreboard, then Geaney kick the free wide. And I  thought wtf is he at??

Then Dingle starting celebrating, and  I thought why are  they celebrating a draw??

I should have  paid more attention in Irish class

Quote from: thewobbler on January 17, 2026, 06:02:36 PMThe man. The legend.

It does befuddle me that a man who initially gained fame as a songwriter has penned some of the laziest lyrics of all tim, even in his best songs.

"And no one heard at all, not even the chair"

"Honey's sweet, but it ain't nothing next to baby's treat"

But he did write some bangers, so I guess that makes him the Noel Gallagher of his day. Maybe even wrote enough good stuff to forgive him for inflicting Sweet Caroline on the world.

1. Forever in Blue Jeans
2. I Am I Said
3. Holly Holy

Can't explain why I like any of these songs so much, but they never leave my playlist.

He should have been  given the cat o' nine tails for  that alone.

Yeah, people should  calm down . It's only one match

How much of this result was down to Carrick's  tactics,  and how  much to Mrs Carrick's teamtalk?
