Why are people either not aware of this or choosing to ignore it?
People are aware but it really isn't worth one f**k when diesel is over €2 a litre. May as well go into the delivery suite with a condom.

Have to admit, I hadn't realised they'd acted in advance of the protests... although I'm still a bit fuzzy on the exact timelines of what happened when.

There also has been changes made by govt after the protests.
All well and good but people are still paying €2-€2.20 for diesel across the board so aren't feeling the benefit of any government action. Telling them they should be grateful that it's not €2.50 isn't going to work either.

Filled the car there and its an extra tenner overall from before the hike

Are you driving a Fiat Cinquecento?

Just shy of £40 extra for a fill for me

What the hell are you driving? A dodge ram?

It's maybe a extra £20-30 a month for me, I do about 800-1000 miles a month.

Mental that people are still buying cars that guzzle much fuel.
It's simple enough
Diesel was approx £1.40 per litre
It's now approx £1.85 per litre

That's an increase of roughly 33%

If your bill is now £10 per fill more expensive than before, then it cost you £30 to fill the tank prior to the latest crisis.

That's a small tank

Ah, the land of milk and honey, as promised by Thatcher.

Lower taxes, share owning democracy, unions neutered, blah, blah, blah.

The punters fell for it all, in successive general elections.

Result now - increasing taxes, a total decline in overall living standards, a third world level of decaying public services, the price of everything going up, so that the cartels can fleece their customers.

The English are as thick as champ, when it comes to political debate, believing every single yarn that Thatcher, Boris & Farage ever came off with. To some extent they deserve everything they got, post 1979.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on Today at 01:19:20 PMIts down to how a team prepares, a manager will want the nutrition right on the day and the prep of whats required, physios, team chat with regards to the tactics employed in case there has been a late change in the other teams selection, late fitness tests, meeting early and heading to the match together in plenty of time, avoiding traffic and having a stress free time to think about the game.

As a manager I'd hate to be thinking for the logistics of that for a Friday or Wed evening game. I'd be surprised to hear one intercounty manager be in favour of that
Didn't Oisin McConville float the idea on their podcast?

Thats why he's div 4  ;)

My previous posts were bore out of the frustration of knowing a result like last night was coming down the tracks. Leinster will need to run a minor B competition for ourselves and Kilkenny at minor level if we cannot evolve what is happening (or not happening) in our clubs, schools and underage squads. Westmeath minors and u20s beating Dublin in this year's championship and two of their schools playing in Leinster schools final, Offaly winning Leinster minor championship last year, Longford the year before that, Louth winning Leinster U20 last year and making Leinster minor final last year as well. Again, topped their group in minor championship and also recorded good wins in u20 this year as well. Those are the counties we would see ourselves on a par with (if not stronger than traditionally). Waterford minor footballers have showed more promise this year than what we have produced in the last 3/4 years.
