Medial ligament in his knee.  Will miss the rest of the u21s.  Lad is gutted.

Very sorry to hear that - any time I have seen him, he always looks a class act - best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Leeds aren't going on a bad run at the minute - undefeated in three!  ;D Unfortunately it is not enough, particularly as the opposition are doing better!!

The Leicester draw wasn't a bad result, although the goal conceded was quite poor. The late equaliser at Southend was a life saver, and I didn't see the late incident where a penalty was denied - to be fair Dennis and Gus took it well!  ::)

Bottom line though - matches are now running out at a seriously alarming rate!  :(

Very sorry to hear this - I remember him featuring for England, and batted at number four (I think). Tributes to him today are lauding him as a great innovator in the cricket world.

May He Rest In Peace.

Have just heard that the NFL. Final will probably not be played in Croker. Reasons cited are the need to renovate the pitch,and/or the likelihood of a less than maximum attendance. This is our second biggest national competition. If we have our major stadium fit to host it ,and give our best players the opportunity to play there, then whats the bloody poit of maintaining it. Far from being a source of pride,as it should be, it is instead becoming a subject of controversy and division. If the only way we can maintain it and make it pay is by renting it out to all and sundry, while at the same time limiting the opportunities for our own kids to play there, then we would be better off without it.  Giving the history and associations it would be a very painful decision, but a sound financial one. To sell and move to a green field site outside of Dublin, where a more modest Stadium could be constructed with better parking and access, A stadium which would not require such a large crowd to make it economic too use and where even our young Boys and Girls might have a reasonable expectation of getting a game. Surely its worth considering

Can I assume there was no controversy and division over last year's NFL Final Venue, when Croke Park hadn't been 'opened up'?   ::)

Where there's life there's hope!! That was a big win over the Hatters  at the week-end. Leeds should have been out of sight before the penalty - which was the worst penalty in the history of the universe!  :)

Good to see Wise inspiring from the line, i.e. holding a ball for a Luton player at a throw in, and as he goes to take it, he throws it away! A touch of class!  ::)

Leicester away tomorrow night will be tough - Southend away next week is a monster!!  :o

it's unfair to judge the application or commitment of any player who is injured and unable to make his own statement on the field.

Again, I want to state that I'm not having a go at Philip Loughran! I was a fan and regret the loss he has been to the set up. If he is coming back and is in great form, great!

As regards the Philly Loughran issue, I think that blaming JK for him going downhill so badly is deflecting the blame the wrong way.  Joe made a mistake in 2003 by playing him at wing forward.  However, if a player's confidence is so badly shot by a single match then in my view he does not have the mental strenght to truly make it.  He has been given numerous chances over the last 3 years to show what he has to offer and he has not taken those opportunities.  If a player cannot regain his confidence sufficiently in 3 years then he is not up to it.

Agree with a lot of your post BC. Just one query though - it was me that first raised the Philip Loughran issue with the 2003 All Ireland Final. I did not mean to imply that that match, or indeed by connection management, was the reason for Philip Loughran's demise. I am rather regretting a potential that has been lost/thrown away! I stand by my assertion that we have not seen him in form since 2003!

its my information that phillip loughran is no longer on the armagh panel. artistic differences with josef mor...

I did hear recently that this was a likely scenario.

A player of immense potential who to my mind never recovered from the disaster that was our 'gameplan' of the 2003 All Ireland Final!

Today was as bad as I have seen in a long time. We really struggled for long periods to make any impression against a good Derry outfit.

The best for us I thought was the full back line, especially Enda and Andy, Stevie as always in the attack and, despite what has been said, I thought Keenan showed well for the ball and got a couple of points, although I would be the first to say that I can't see him there come the Summer. Martin O'Rourke tried hard (again as always) and young Lavery showed one or two good glimpses in the first half which might give hope for the future. JP Donnelly did not do bad either when he came on.

I'm afraid a lot of the new players being tried out are not (at this stage anyway) county standard, and Paddy McKeever - who has lost some beef - was absolutely brutal. Young McKinney in nets had a day that he will probably want to forget.

The parallels with this time last year are remarkable in my opinion, with the team appearing leaden footed and way off the pace. Yet another Ulster arrived - so I'm hoping the performance can be put down to heavy training!!

As I always end up saying, I think we will still be relying on the big guns come the Summer!

One last question, to any Armagh supporter here. Can you tell me what is happening with Philip Loughran? I'd be very curious to know!
