Quote from: From the Bunker on July 11, 2026, 09:53:22 PMLads Kerry are really over-hyped this year.

They will be beaten by Dublin or Mayo.

Good to see you getting carried away at last Bunk ;D

That'd never happen to a Rossie...

A good day for the Tailteann Cup and a Great day for Wicklow football.

Louth and Mayo fans coming in now and you'd expect the neutral crowd to back Wicklow.

Quote from: Mourne Red on July 06, 2026, 10:07:22 PMDelighted with that.. Ronaldo's ego dented and that fraud Martinez who has failed upwards out.

Portugal offered nothing going forward.

You'd have to feel sorry for the Portuguese players - they have had about 5 years (at least) of this fiasco.

Martinez looks to have Ronaldo playing full games as part of his contract. And was content to roll with that and collect his wages.

You'd imagine jersey sales, sponsorship and endorsements of the Ronaldo image are an important part of the Portugal national team finances. Which makes Ronaldo the product more important than winning titles.

When you see Neymar coming on you realise the lack of depth of the Brazilian squad.

Haaland strolled around and his confidence is in a serious place. He celebrated both goals like he expected to score.

Haaland will get the plaudits - but any land in goals was the hero when the game was a game.

Quote from: blanketattack on July 04, 2026, 09:22:13 PMLots of similarities between Cork hurlers and Donegal footballers this season. Both peaked way too early.

Both were trying to regain confidence in their respective squads. Both were looking to hard at overcoming one opponent and took their eyes off of the rest.

Liked how Paraguay pushed the limits. They worked their ass off.
I've been involved with Soccer teams on both sides of that coin.
Sometimes you have to drag the opponent down a level.
Paraguay could have played football and got hockeyed.

Quote from: From the Bunker on July 04, 2026, 07:01:23 PMI was surprised Cillian came back or was asked back this year. His pace is shot. A great servant.

I imagine if Cillian or Andy had have been confident in the emergence of Kobe and Beirne, it wouldn't have happened.

I suppose it was a free hit. You'd think someone of his experience is not lost in training and the dugout.

Quote from: weareros on July 04, 2026, 08:30:24 PMMost that should ever qualify from CONCACAF is 2. They got 6, 3 hosts and 3 additional spots. And then they get two additional playoff spots. Only Mexico and USA should be let near a tournament. Good to see Morocco let loose in 2nd half.

Ah the World Cup is not all about quality. Not all the best players play in it. I like seeing countries from different continents ply their trade. If you want quality you get the Euros (or so we are told).
