Quote from: Wildweasel74 on April 21, 2025, 04:01:35 PMWould Roscommon not be classed in the top 10.

Well if the top 10  it would be number 10 , and I dont think we are even number 10 at this stage, Over  the past decade we had great players ie Dalys Smiths and Murtaghs and a few others  and but they are now on the  wrong side of 30 , so we need some of the younger players to kick on , but that hasnt really happened yet

Quote from: fearbrags on March 11, 2025, 12:49:19 PMWell I live in  the Usa, This day and age you do not have to live in a country to know what is going on there, Of late  I know everything going on back home , when I came here 30 years ago it was totally different. The internet changed every thing , I think a lot  who voted for Trump regret their Vote already, The ""Tariffs"" are a disaster , Elon is not helping either, And as For Ukraine  ???

So why do you think 77,000,000 people voted for Trump?

How did he win every single swing state?

How did his share of the vote improve among almost every single demographic in the country?

Why did 89% of counties shift towards the Republicans?

Why did Republicans capture the House and the Senate along with the White House?

If you live here and don't think there is a serious problem with the Democratic brand, then I don't know what to tell you.

Well ffs  75 million voted for Harris , it only takes a small swing to change the outcome, for starters  The dems had a poor candidate, ran a poor campaign , Joe Biden should have being challenged , should  have had a proper primary . The perception was of high Inflation which there was, but largely due to covid, Bidden did a poor job on the Border, Their messaging was poor and  Also  they became for use of a better better word "" Too Woke"",

And for your information there is no ""IF "" I have lived here in Texas since  1994, but everyone back home has the same access to information that you and I have via the internet so refrain from that argument

They will be relegated  but funny enough they may have a better year then last year  even though they won the league last year, it is weird  How irrelevant the league is over all ?

How accurate is this ??
"""As I am in Ukraine at the moment, I would just like to correct a few lies from the Zelensky/Trump meeting based on my work here in Ukraine—Trump and Vance you are welcome to come visit although I doubt you have the courage to do so.
1) Zelensky showed up in military fatigues as he has done at every international meeting since day one of the 2022 Russian invasion—the second Russian invasion of Ukraine since 2014—to show his solidarity with the Ukrainian soldiers risking their lives to defend Ukraine, and to emphasize he is the leader of a country at war.
I didn't see any similar objections to the non-elected immigrant racist white supremacist Elon Musk showing up repeatedly in the White House in a T-shirt and baseball cap which he didn't even remove—it is a standard sign of respect to leadership to remove your hat—so don't lecture Zelensky on how to dress.
2) Zelensky is not a dictator and he is not an unpopular leader who is unable to mobilize his people. I have spent many nights and days in the last few weeks with soldiers heading to the frontlines and talking to them, and none of them have tried to refuse to serve and they were heading into the battle with determination and courage—I salute them and respect them deeply.
3) Ukraine and Zelensky doesn't have to thank the U.S. or Trump—the U.S. and Trump need to thank Ukraine and Zelensky. This is for two reasons.
First of all, Ukraine gave up the third-largest nuclear arsenal in the world voluntarily at the end of the USSR under the Budapest accords guaranteed by the U.S., UK, Russia and EU, giving up several trillion of dollars of nuclear weapons in return for security guarantees for its territorial integrity which Russia has violated and the U.S., UK and EU vowed to protect. If Ukraine had kept its nuclear weapons, it would have been one of the most nuclear armed countries in the world and Russia would have never invaded. We, the West, committed to defend Ukraine in exchange for its denuclearization so there is no need for Ukraine to thank the U.S. for keeping its promises.
Secondly, Ukraine is defending not just its own territorial integrity but the future of Europe. I have been interviewing people from the Russian-occupied territories the last few weeks and they really do live in a Stalinist prison camp that is unbelievably oppressive. This is what Putin wants to bring to much of Europe and we need to stop him in Ukraine to save our own democratic future, at any price (respecting human rights).
In was in Chechnya 25 years ago documenting the same Russian abuses, together at the same hotel with the murdered Anna Polikovskaya, the murdered Natalia Estemirova, and Memorial's Oleg Orlov who was imprisoned in February 2024 for "discrediting the Russian military" and later released in a prisoner exchange.
The difference in 1999-2000 is that we could operate in Russia, under the watchful eye of the FSB (the current KGB). The FSB were staying at the same hotel as us, the ACCA in Ingushetia, and one night I found a few cigarette butts on the floor of my room just to let me know they were watching us. Buy we could go to Moscow, Human Rights Watch had a staff and office in Moscow, and do our work despite the dangers.
Since the Russian invasion of 2022 (and long before that), that limited space for activism and civil society has closed down in Russia. There are no more independent journalists or human rights groups operating in Russia and the HRW office has long closed down, and Anna and Natalia and Nemtsov and so many others were simply murdered by Putin. Yet this is what Trump embraces instead of the freedom-loving Ukrainian people, and he has refrained of any criticism of the murderous dictator Putin, instead trying to humiliate the freedom-fighting Zelensky. But Zelensky isn't humiliated, he stands proud and strong because you cannot be humiliated by people you don't respect.
Shame on you, you twice impeached and felon convicted orange wanna be. You and your republican supplicants do not deserve our respect—I won't even spell republicans with a capital R because they don't deserve that honorific. Shame on you betrayers of our American Values.""

Quote from: RedHand88 on March 01, 2025, 05:34:04 PMWatched the whole interview. Zelensky talking over the President inside the Oval Office when you arent getting your way is not a good look. If watching the West Wing taught me one thing its that.

ffs  When Donald actually mentioned  ""Hunter Biden's Bath Room and Bedroom "" at this meeting , How can we criticize Zelensky ?

Quote from: trileacman on February 14, 2025, 11:18:40 PMWhy is Trump going to bat for Eric Adams, a Democrat Mayor?
Because Adams sucked up to him

Because Adams wants to make the safety of his residents a priority (instead of pandering to the Democratic open borders policies of the prior administration)

Sorry, but that's nonsense whitey. Adams presided over and participated in web of seedy corruption, with numerous aides and appointees having to resign in disgrace last year. And I'm speaking as someone who voted for him and who is sympathetic to his complaints about the strain on resources imposed by the large quantity asylum seekers he had to look after.

We've had seven resignations from the Southern District, and the case was only dropped (in a conditional quid pro quo that has nothing to do with the merits of the case or Adams' personal conduct, as he was publicly and humiliatingly assured when he appeared on Fox and Friends with Homan like a good little doggy) after the Justice Department lackey gave the rest of the assistant US attorneys an hour for someone to put their name on it or they'd all be fired. The head US attorney was only in the job a couple of weeks and, being a former Scalia clerk, is hardly a bleeding heart liberal.

One of her underlings (a former Chief Justice Roberts clerk) wrote, when he resigned:
"...Any assistant U.S. attorney would know that our laws and traditions do not allow using the prosecutorial power to influence other citizens, much less elected officials, in this way. If no lawyer within earshot of the President is willing to give him that advice, then I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion. But it was never going to be me."

Adams is fucked. No way in hell he wins re-election. Trump is welcome to him. He'll fit right in.

Perception is reality

He is the only big city Democratic Mayor (that I know of) to speak out against the open borders policy (tongue in cheek description on my part) of the prior administration and next thing hes in the cross hairs of an indictment

The Democrats used "lawfare" against all manner of political opponents during the Biden administration so my skepticism that these charges are nothing more than a political hit job ais well grounded

FFS-i think Bill Deblasio (aka Warren Wilhelm) had way more serious charges swept under the carpet, but hes a Democratic lackey so they went nowhere

So...

1. The opinions of GOP actual professional lawyers, including the acting head appointed by Trump a month ago, are irrelevant.

2. The fact that this is a completely, openly and brazenly politically motivated (provisional) dropping of charges in return for completely irrelevant political action and nothing whatsoever to do with the case is also irrelevant.

3. DeBlasio was apparently worse and got away with it despite half of his tenure being under Trump (you're free to outline the comparisons).

4. Lawfare all over the place. Tell us more...

How about all Adams' appointees and aides. Are they getting the same deal?

Latisha James/Alvin Bragg hit job on Trump

Hunter Biden Laptop Suppression

Russia Collusion Hoax

Democrats hiding Joes decline for 4 years

CBS stealth editing of Kamala's interview to make her seem coherent

I honestly couldn't give 2 fvcks what any of them do

BOTH parties should be absolutely ashamed of themselves

Trump and his cohorts are truly despicable, but are no better or worse than the Democrats

That Remains to be seen

But it looks like with  Musk,Kennedy,Gabbard, Higseth all crazy or yes men it may be worse , Let say Little Marco is the only normal one in a top position impo

"""You say "independent of the gardai" as if that's a bad thing. You think the cops should be the investigators, the arresting force AND the prosecutor?!

As for it being faceless or "nobody knows who is on the DPP", it has it's own website with its organisation FFS.  ""'

FFFS   I want  The DPP to be independent of gardai, but I don't believe it is

AS for their Website, It is cross between  an advertisement and an user Manuel

Only  one person  Name on the site   The Director of  (DPP), who is  Ms. Catherine Pierse,

, THat is only one we know on DPP officially as far as I can see

I do know of  one  Arrogant Ex cop that was  appointed To the dpp a few years back  , Only reason we know is he put himself on a local newspaper showing off I guess

Lets put it this way he wouldn't be my choice , Not a very transparent organisation

Now Gallsman If you can fill me on its membership , governance etc please do ,

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on November 05, 2024, 10:24:29 PMHow come the McGregor case going through the Civil cour, and not the Criminal court, given the extend of the accusations against him.
Barrister friend tells me the DPP concluded there was insufficient evidence to likely secure a conviction. And not the first time.

Civil trial has a lower bar. But have to be careful with reading too much into the opening day, especially statements by the prosecution lawyer, even if the initial medical evidence seemed very strongly against him.

Confirmed on Rte.ie just now
"A woman who alleges she was raped by mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor in a Dublin hotel almost six years ago has said she was "absolutely devastated" and let down when the Director of Public Prosecutions decided not to prosecute him for the alleged assault."

You would  wonder about ""the Dpp"" A faceless organisation with no oversight at all, independent of the gardai , how do we know? , a perfect place to stop a case going forward be it, rape, murder, etc , A gardai file that nobody else ever gets to see, goes to the Dpp,  they report back  "" not enough evidence"", Case closed , Nobody can ask any questions , no body knows who is on the DPP  , nobody knows who pick them , . My conclusion  The Dpp has far too much power with no over sight, In so many murder cases around Ireland they end up being Judge and Jury , THis needs to be brought to attention with Drew Harris and minister for Justice etc
