What are the official descriptions for each county's inhabitants?

I was reading a book yesterday, and  it referred to  a woman from Sligo as a Sligonian. A term I'd never heard before (assuming the author was correct).

Which got me thinking about other  counties , and the proper  terms for one of its inhabitants. The only others I know are:

Galwegian
Corconian

And I'm assuming, Dubliner?

What  are the official  descriptions /terms for the other 20-odd  counties? And who decided  these descriptions?

The Boy Wonder

There are few such counties where inhabitant's descriptor is derived from county name
- Carlovian and Longfordian are others that come to mind.

All counties will have other descriptors and/or nicknames (Carlow's is The Scallion Eaters).

I don't think it's much of a thing here.

Do we not just go with their nicknames?

Dublin: Jackeens/Dubs
Antrim: Glensmen (North Antrim people call us Belfastians (see what I did there) Frankie's or McCooeys.
Galway: Tribesmen etc.

Never understood the chip eater one. If you ever drive from. Ballycastle through each town on your way to Belfast, all you see are chippies!

I was once called a white bread eating **** one day. That made me laugh mid wrestle!

Shower of bastards would be used for a quite a few i imagine

Well,  that's what I wanted to avoid. Things like the Yeats county, Tribesmen , Glensmen etc. Or worse, like  the rhubarbs, as I've heard mentioned.

Maybe terms  like  Galwegian only applies to Galway City , or Corconian to Cork City. I'm not sure.

Special mention to Kilkenny who are known as piss the powder in Wexford

Dates back to the 1798 Rebellion: rebels from Castlecomer, County Kilkenny, were mocked for allowing their gunpowder to get wet (and thus useless) prior to the Battle of Kilcumney

Brilliant.

Not that it's related but there was a great podcast series on the 1798 rebellion on the Irish history podcast (Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/2a2URhT3m5IPhb9Xp8dNWo?si=JiQCXewTTOyQbjOMRTXEZA)

I love demonyms.

I heard my dad talk about Belfasters, but I prefer Belfastards.
