Not at all - 'tis not I engaging in empty rhetoric. Whether you call it plantation, colonisation, large-scale immigration, or massive demographic change, it still amounts to a bad deal for the host society. I actually think you're being deliberately evasive, but whatever.

Padraic Henry Pearse must be turning in his grave.

Good night.

Killyman beaten by Donaghmore Thirds which is the only game they won in 2023 (Donaghmore III lost every game last year).

Things must be getting really dicey for them lately, your heart would go out to anyone trying to keep the thing going with the amount of lads moving away at the minute. Must be trojan work.

Definite split in division 3 as many men have mentioned on here, Raymond Monteith mentioned it at county convention a few months ago. You could see there being a 3A and 3B in the near future the way things are going, the gap between the junior contenders and the bottom is widening every year.

I've noticed a  lot of people recently using the term "before the pandemic" or "before Covid" .

Annoyingly, I've even found myself  using it once or  twice.

Another phrase  is "there were no mobile phones in them days" .  Maybe someone talking  about a story from  decades ago.  Well, of course there werent. You're talking about  1950!

Annoyingly, I've found myself saying  that  now too!  ;D

Some result tonight in St Mary's park.. lads really stood up and were counted. Eoghan Byrne and Ryan Boyle immense throughout. Referee was excellent and didn't fall for their bully boy tactics.

Quote from: ONeill on Today at 11:13:43 PMWell, the Dubs never lost, one draw in a group game v Roscommon. Armagh also failed to win once in a group game v Tyrone. Their other 2 losses were draws in normal time, draws after extra time, then losing on penalties. When I put it in writing, it looks far from what Dublin achieved, but you sort of know what I mean?

They seem to fall on the wrong side of the coin in a lottery.

We know what you mean.  Armagh due a bit of luck and Sunday could be the day for it, if not...

Quote from: burdizzo on Today at 10:57:16 PMNo, I'm drawing a line between periods of large-scale immigration. Simple as that. You're trying to put words in my mouth. You may want to engage in semantics, but my point was that massive demographic change is not good for the host society in the long run.

its not as simple as that..

semantics? we are not being colonised..That's not semantics. loads of empty rhetoric

Quote from: ONeill on Today at 10:35:59 PMHave Armagh been punching above their weight in recent years, or have they underperformed? Or neither?

I don't know.

Their record last year in the Championship was nearly as good as the All-Ireland winners
, but also didn't see it over the line 3 times.

Funny team.

How do you figure that?
