Off out for a pint tonight and we got chatting in the WhatsApp group about pubs that serve up a great stout.

Pubs that spring to mind (limited to 5 and 1 from each town / city)

The Derby Bar - Derry City
Bittles - Belfast
Long Haul - Dublin
McGings - Westport

And the best I've had
Simon Coyles, Roscommon. What a pint!

Was in Belfast couple weeks ago on a Guinness run, Maddens Kelly Cellars and the Deers head were great.

Do love getting of the train and heading to The Crown for a Guinness though..

Some cracking places for stout in Dublin, McQuiads decent too
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Syd Harkin's in Kilkenny, or Bowe's on Fleet Street in Dublin.
Won't find any better anywhere.
Nordie Tayto is shite

Maddens in Newry (46 Mill Street I think its called now.) or Croziers.

Doyles in Camlough is legendary for stout.

Edit, hadn't seen the 1 per town. Would go with Croziers in Newry and Doyles in Camlough.

Honestly I'm not sure there's a bad pint of Guinness anywhere anymore. Well
not in Ireland.

Avoid the Canal Court in Newry! Pints in general are rough in it.

I'd agree with that. Or, at least, it's very rare and there would be alarm bells before you ordered one.

A slightly wet/dirty glass will kill a good pint straight away. Maybe I'm too fussy lol

Champion The Wonder Horse

I'll happily go to my grave without touching another drop of any form of stout.

The pint in The Crown is average at best but hard to bear the location for the train.

Don't be stressing about the rules

Re Bittles, John I think you call him, yes, grade A beanbag, but it's a bitta craic too, especially if someone is there with you that doesn't know the craic

Ashburn and Courthouse in Lurgan both serve an awful Guinness.
