Being absolutely slaughtered by reviewers...

The TV show was a hard enough watch.

Quote from: tiempo on March 08, 2026, 04:51:35 PMFergies 96/97 vintage who won the league with 75 points and got knocked out of Europe by Dortmund would bet the pick of world football, holy ghost!

Fergie was comprehensively outplayed in the 4 CL finals he got to, but won 2 of them. Funny old game

Was outplayed in 3 of them. No excuses for the 2 Barcelona finals against the best team of all time, missing 2 key players in 99 and were better than Chelsea in 2008.

You wouldn't get 90000 at any mens boxing fight in Ireland, which is of a far higher standard, so never going to happen for a womens fight.

Quote from: tiempo on March 06, 2026, 11:24:40 AMWatched The Prestige as was near top of imdb rated films, nearly a good show, half reasonable bit of distraction more than anything, a few titties would of emproved her, bring back the 80s

I remember watching this on sky when it came out in 2006 or 2007. Don't know how, but I ended up accidentally going to the plus 1 channel and was watching away for a good while and tge film ended. As it was jumping back and forward in time I didn't catch on. Had to go and watch the first half then. Disaster!
I'd say the high channel numbers were getting hit on Sky that same night.

The 9 was wore off on that remote.

Womens boxing is a hard watch as it is. Never filling Croke Park for a Katie Taylor fight.

Heard of a few places cancelling orders on customers who ordered last Friday at basically the normal price. Scumbags like them should be boycotted in future.

Thought season 1 was decent, season 2 wasn't great. Am in 2 minds about starting season 3.

Would agree with you on seasons 1 and 2.

Quote from: thewobbler on February 21, 2026, 11:07:41 PMRattled through The Leftovers over the past month. Ignored it until now due to its Lost connections.

Lost and me have a bad history; I adored it up until the final series when it became glaringly more obvious each week that it was never going to answer anything. And I didn't need everything answered. Just anything at all.

The Leftovers was good, and at times sublime. Wonderfully thought provoking. Completely batshit crazy in places. But I guess as I didn't start it with the premise that things would be explained, the process never bothered me like Lost did. Now I'm finding myself days on wondering about things. Not story arcs or conclusions or such like. Just things that the series explored.

Mark of a good show.

But it won't be for everyone.

One of the best!!

I loved both shows.

Quote from: Hand of God on February 16, 2026, 07:27:02 PMSo you don't find the allegations credible.

That's your problem right there.
Imagine a solicitor looking at it through a clinical legal lens?

The bastard.

I have little interest in debating whether he should be brought to trial or convicted. There's a whole different threshold at play there.

It's about whether Gallagher should be allowed operate in the GAA and certain people are hiding behind legal basis when it's clearly a moral one.
Every thread you touch turns to sh!te. I really hope, for your sake, you manage better in the real word because you are just a pollutant on here that is only interested in destroying discussion not engaging in it. A complete dose.

I'm a pollutant. Sure.

I just happen to the disagree with 50+ right wing conservative bores and neo-liberals fanatics who hold some very dark positions on things like domestic violence, western supremacy.

It could never ever be your world outlook that is the issue....

And that's a great example of why you are such a toxic poster. I should have known better than to comment on any tread you're involved in.

Keep projecting on me. It's probably easier villify me than look at yourself. You're the guy supporting an alleged wife beater. That's the uneasy truth for you so you can continue to attack me if it eases your guilty conscience but it won't actually address the issues you clearly need to.

This is not healthy behaviour lad. Go outside for a walk or get another hobby.

Dismissing domestic violence victims is certainly not healthy behaviour.

But I'm the one who needs to go out for a walk apparently.

This forum is clearly an echo chamber for conservatives stuck in the 1960s.

It's the views on this forum with regard to this matter which is massively out of step. I don't think you'd find so massive support for Gallagher across many otte areas or Irish society.

Apparently I'm the issue here though. Interesting.

Show one single person on here who has dismissed domestic violence victims.

Ok.

Litmus test.

Do you find Nicola Gallahger's allegations credible. Yes or no?

If you don't you are dismissing domestic violence victims.

Maybe you should listen to how domestic violence victims and how they feel about Rory Gallagher operating in the GAA? I'm pretty sure you'll dismiss their opinions though.

Hilarious.

"Do you agree with my opinion?

If you dont, you are wrong."

Fantastic actor.

As an aside one film I detest, almost more than any, is Apocalypse now.

Overhyped for me too. Some good scenes of course but mostly tripe.

Watched it years ago and thought it was dung.
