Quote from: Milltown Row2 on Today at 08:51:36 AMUnionist parties have a deep hatred of each other, so a pact seems unlikely at this stage

UUP have always been the traditional top party until big Ian came along and wiped them out after the GFA

So those sniggers run deep and still smarting from losing the top dog party in Unionist areas

TUV I can't see topping anyone soon, but who knows, turn up the rhetoric and it feeds into the PUL community who are fed a serious amount of drivel on social media

At the end of the day the school playground has more maturity than the tit for tat slagging going on up on the hill.

Will there ever be adult politics here?

Is there adult politics anywhere?

26 counties, UK or America??? 3 that I know of and definately not adult politics.

This was some article, your man who likes to watch on TV and doesn't go isn't bothered and the soccer man never goes isn't happy.
I don't think there is many overly bothered from what I can see.

It was the 'Fans Divided' line that got me..lol.

Then I read it.  A sample of a few people...who don't follow Derry GAA. FFS.

The purpose of signage is to inform people where they are and to help direct them to where they're going.

The moment a sign becomes bilingual, its very purpose is diminished. And if we can can all agree that scanning your phone notifications when driving is dangerous behaviour, then I would suggest that bilingual road signs, especially for visitors on fast moving routes, is also dangerous. Not to the same level as texting, but still an unnecessary distraction. And the need for road safety should always outrank anyone's cultural persuasions.

FFS. Jamie Bryson in disguise?

Best transfer window...since the last one...and the one before that.  ::)

Martin O'Neill has to earn his corn now in terms of getting them new lads up to speed and ready for action. No btter man but he's nota miracle worker.

At least, new players in the door. The Mexican lad at right back is very good imo. Should start over Johnston.

The big lad, when up to speed, should bang in a few goals. He's direct and not really a 'holder upper' at centre forward. Should do well at Celtic...if his head is right and doesn't fall out with team mates etc.

The lad Artur at centre back hasn't played that many games so we'll see. Another project player. Time will tell.

With the title on the line, Celtic should have spent £20m to get 3 quality players in to win league. That's all it would have took. 3 teams even enough but 3 quality players would win it comfortably.

This transfer window, once again, is a statement of a lack of intent. Spend £20m now, win league, then buy a few more in summer (offload Engels, Hatate and Maeda) and qualify for Champions League again via qualifier. Get the £60m paybck in Champion League group stages. Huge profit made.

Board can't see the trees for the wood and hence the f'%k up in this years Champions League qualifier...and in many previous years.

You'd be a fool to refuse free money. Do we really care that some insurance company wants there name stuck in there?

As long as its not Allianz!
100% agree - its easy money and mutually beneficial to a local company.
not the only county to do this. Armagh has Boxit (I think), for example.

Absolutely a positive thing for Derry GAA, same as the money we're getting from Derry City for the use of our facilities. A considerable amount of easy money that can be put to good use for doing very little.

Good move by Derry GAA. Handy money for the 2 stadiums.

Every county will the same in a few years. A no brainer.

Typical Celtic Board transfer window, like the last few.

Haven't spent anything. Loans.

Thats a crazy amount for a very average player.

Forest must be dripping in money.

Going from £11m to £25m inside 24 hours. Premiership coming down with money.

Yeah Semi Finals supposed to be Tomorrow & Wednesday, haven't seen any info on it. Was the Semi Final draw made last week?

The PRO over the Sigerson cup must be gone to sleep.

Galway university are advertising away semi final v UCC on Thursday at 8pm

So Queens v UL and waiting on the venue and day to published on that

Absolutely ridiculous - and you wonder why county managers give this competition zero respect

Queens and UL probably be Abbotstown.

Quote from: Blue By Nature on February 01, 2026, 08:00:17 PMQuick question. How long can this Down hurling manager continue? Must be serious questions about him if he is the right person. If he spent more time coaching and winning close games instead of being on X ( Twitter ) rambling on about the Middle East and the Scottish Premiership they might win these games !!! Asking for a friend  :-\

Well Down won the division 2A league last year and got promoted to division 1B. For a smaller hurling county that's a great achievement. Also although we lost yesterday, to come within 2 points of Wexford is an achievement on its own. We still have lots of our starters still missing and the 3 of U20s playing a full game the day before.

Ramblings on twitter aside this is the highest we've been as a county in hurling for 20 plus years, so in terms of management its not too bad.

Sure look at Antrim, big name manager and a team thats doing no better than us yet they have 40 or so hurling clubs to pick from, just a thought.

Ronan's a good Down man who has Down punching well above their weight I think. Probably not taking many 'expenses' either? Compare that to Davy Fitz next door in Antrim. Sheenan has been with Down a good few years now. Had the Rock up for a while to freshen things up  bit. Players seem to like him and, as I say, Down are higher position then they've been in a long time.

Not a great start yesterday but came back and were well in it at the end. They'll give Kildare and Antrim  run or it. Tough challenge but be great to
see them stay up.

I think Clare and Dublin will go up. Not convinced on Wexford..

Quote from: Gallybander on February 01, 2026, 09:53:39 PMSurprising enough win for Waterford today. We put that Cork nightmare behind us and showed what we're made of by taking down Limerick. Reuben Halloran was clinical from the placed balls, and Shane Bennett's penalty helped us into the driving seat. It was a massive performance to hold them off at the end, though Limerick might have had some cobwebs, but Waterford fully deserved it.

Didn't expect that from Waterford, especially against Limerick. When will the BG lads be back in?

Imagine if Waterford had SOK back in goals. Be some boost. Although Nolan is decent.

Limerick had a strong team out but will get better.

Munster championship will be cut throat once again. Best competition out there. 2 are not going to make it.

Just wondering are there teams who are more prone to forget to leave 3 up or is it just random?

Haven't been to any NFL games yet but club teams last year were very disclipined, for the most part.

You'd think senior inter-county teams would be sharp on their communication.

Clare streets ahead of us, touch, physically, conditioning. Any way you carve it

Clare have a load of recent All-Ireland medals and All-Stars etc. They're a very experienced team. Done a very professional job and probably left about 20 pts behind them.

Big battles between Antrim, Carlow, Down and Kildare now.

In fairness, Cavan could be on 4pts after 2 games.

Cork just edged them by 1 pt last week and lost by a big 2 ptr at the death today. Small margains and all that.

It's a very tight division. Loads of points still to be played for. Entertaining stuff.

Coffee shops must be the way to go. Seems a good few GAA players in that line of business. Fair play to them.
Its cafe Mamo on Broad street
