I'm not convinced Dublin are improving.

For me they've stagnated this year, didn't exactly put Wexford away with any gusto, and drew with Offaly in Tullamore.

They really need to show something against Galway who actually do show signs of improvement with their young guns downing Kilkenny twice in a matter of weeks.

If they don't get something out of that game v Galway, then they really must put on a performance in their last game at home to a lowly Kilkenny team.

How far Leinster is behind the top teams in Munster we will find out soon enough.

The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, expressed her support for the UK eventually rejoining the EU. In September 2023 Keir Starmer, leader of the Labour Party and the now-Prime Minister of the UK, ruled out the possibility of the UK rejoining the EU under a Starmer-led Labour government.
2 absolute c***ts I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw...

Beat me to it.

If anything Von der Leyen is a bigger cúnt that Starmer and that takes some doing.

The Tain Ulster league was played very early on in the season and served its purpose of pre season friendlies.

No matter what you put in place it will always need to overlap with the intercounty championships and you'll have the same problems with teams having to field without 6 or 7 of their top players.

Prior to the CR, etc there was only 1 or 2 games in an Ulster championship and then an AI quarter final game. That was the height of it.

County teams play a lot more now which grates on me when I hear so called journalists saying so and so won't be playing again until 2027.

Waterford would have been out already in the old system and no one would have batted an eyelid.

Why?

Wait for it - "too moderate" apparently.  :o

Saw that and Alan chambers getting the boot as well. The uup under Burrows heading back over towards the DUP. A fools game as it is very crowded over there with TUV as well and a decreasing pool of voters year on year. Interesting that it said Beatie may join another party. But who? Alliance surely wouldn't touch him if they are trying to keep sitting on the fence. Independent candidate at next election much more likely.

If Doug got elected as an independent and Alliance didn't take on Justice, could he be the next justice Minister- Like Claire Sugden was.

Fúck that. Shinners should go for justice.

Why should a unionist get it?

My God, they are planning to flatten the Bot.

Do young ones not go there anymore?

No. I was in on a friday night on november past and full of pool tables plus barely anyone there. (Not much had changed since i was a regular over 20 years ago).

End of an era that.

I picked the young fella and his class mates up outside the BOT last year, it was after a school formal and there was absolutely no one about the place like there used to be.

I presume the Cathedral quarter has taken all that trade now.

Quote from: Na Glinntí Glasa on May 11, 2026, 03:48:56 PMVery quiet on the league front on here with the hurling this year. Not much real interest in the games it seems from supporters.

I've been to a few games and none of them have been really worth the while of travelling to in terms of a contest.

Portaferry or St Endas look to be in trouble at the moment with Ballygalget not far behind them from what I've seen of them.

Ballycastle look to be well equipped to win that league as they have the stronger panel at their use for it. Never a bad thing to see someone different win it.

We've took some heavy defeats in recent weeks but got a decisive win over St Enda's yesterday.

Minus county players and injuries are killing us, Ports are well shorn of their main players also and I'd say St Enda's really miss their three county lads.

Other clubs are better set to cover for those players missing, but we aren't just yet.

If we collect points from those who will be around us come the split, we'll not get too bothered about getting beat by Loughgeil, the Dall and Dunloy.

Ballycastle are going well, have they any lads tied up with the county teams?

Quote from: Bord na Mona man on May 11, 2026, 01:18:50 PMA great draw for Offaly, because it would have been a tragedy to lose.
And serious kudos to Eoghan Cahill. The last 65 and the free before that were tricky. For Kilkenny TJ missed 4 frees and Kenny missed 2 after him. It wasn't handy conditions for freetakers.

For the last 65, the Offaly players immediately appealed it and kicked up a proper fuss so the crowd knew something was up. It then made it difficult for Johnny Murphy to ignore the appeals.
If they'd held their whisht, it was a defeat.

It wouldn't be like the Offaly crowd to make a bit of a scene if they think the referee made a boob of something.

Pulling this gombeen out typifies the paralysis by analysis that soccer has become

When asked what differentiates between offences in the same proximity/phase of play he said impact, surely any half cognisant being would use a time stamp to delineate

not being an expert I wasn't sure about that part either. IMO if Declan Rice is rugby tackling a lad before the goalkeeper is being illegally impeded, the goal doesn't stand but the first offence would mean a penalty to the Hammers.

As I say, I'm no expert, but surely the first foul takes precedence.

Quote from: playwiththewind1st on May 11, 2026, 12:36:51 PMNot sure it's that simple. The system has failed. Labour aren't centre left anymore, the Tories aren't doing their thing. The vaccum had to be filled. Why not try something new?

So, because both Labour & the Conservatives have utterly failed, we then pass the parcel to a bunch of swivel-eyed xenophobic idiots, who manage to make Liz Truss look like a Trotskyist?

The UK is fecked.

Everyone looked at the US and Trump and thought it couldn't happen elsewhere as people in the UK were smarter etc, but here we are.

People voted for Reform candidates that are openly racist, Islamophobic and ironically truly anti-semitic holocaust deniers.

If that trend continues to the next UK general election then seeing Reform in government won't be that big of a surprise.

Labour are worse than useless and Polanski is getting the Corbyn treatment now.

All credit to Offaly, Tullamore is a tough place to get the win against them evidently.

It would be easy to say Kilkenny have dropped off hugely and they might well have, at the same credit must go to Offaly for kicking on from a poor Div1A campaign and maybe that is paying off for them.

Offaly finish off with Wexford next, in Tullamore and then away to Kildare. It's not beyond the realms for them to end up with 6 points and that may be enough to get them out of Leinster.

Kilkenny have Kildare up next and whilst Kildare are giving a very good account of themselves it would be the biggest shock in my lifetime for Kildare to come out of Nowlan park with the win (and I was with the Down team who beat Kilkenny in Nowlan park to relegate them to Div 2 in the early 90's).

Dublin's final 2 games will decide their fate and that of those around them.

Dublin probably need a win from one of their last 2 games, Galway up next then a finale with Kilkenny in Parnell Park, which for me is their best chance.

If Dublin win that, and Offaly do pick up 2 wins then the Cats would be gone from the 2026 championship....

Wexford aren't mathematically out of it yet, they need to buck up though, beat Offaly and hope Galway are already through to the final by the time of the last game.

Rossiter is under a bit of pressure to find something from this group, young and all that they are.

It's die dog or shíte the license this weekend for Waterford as they entertain table toppers Cork to Walsh park on Saturday tea time.

Cork will be confident enough of being able to outscore Waterford even if they are going with a tried and not so trusted  Damian Cahalane at No.3.

They struggle in Walsh park, but will want to keep the winning going and TBH I can't see the Waterford defence hold them out as much as I'd love Waterford to do it, I just can't see it.

Kildare will entertain Galway for long enough before the tribesmen pull away well in the end.

Offaly will be facing a Kilkenny who think they've solved a few defensive issues. Wexford were that passive the last time out I'm not so sure. Offaly won't have the defence to deal with Kilkenny so the Kilkenny defence may get yet another armchair ride on Sunday.

Wexford were so flat and passive against Kilkenny that Rossiter really needs a performance against the Dubs or that's the season realistically over for them.
Dubs aren't doing anything spectacular at the minute and need to get the win here also as tougher challenges lie ahead and they need to get these points in the bank to get out of Leinster and I think they will.

I was trying to find that video again but I think it's raised £3M for Down CB, but the clubs would have raised multiples of that.
