Quote from: JollyGreenGiant on May 19, 2026, 02:18:22 PMReally hope Portugal don't go the distance. I can't help but feel the US would be delighted with Infantino and Trump presenting the World Cup to Ronaldo.

Ronaldo was a great supporter of the Palestinians, I wonder is that still the case!

QuotePortugal haven't a hope under Martinez

Deschamps  hasn't a notion either. Mbappe is a dick so hope  they don't win it

Spain I'd say are favourites

I'd  like to see  someone like Croatia win it

Is that deschamps that won a WC and got to another final?
He also choked  in a Euro final at home against a Ronaldo-less Portugal

And his team has been  awful in  a few tournaments as well. Last Euros I don't think  they scored from open play.

For me "a Ronaldo-less Portugal" is better than the one with him in it.

Just saying.

Kane won't get the service he needs to score the goals to get England anywhere serious in this competition, he isn't bad.

There will be a bolter from somewhere that hasn't shown much as yet, a Uruguay or a Belgium could get a good run and get a semi berth.

No point watching for the first few weeks, loads of shíte matches.
Aye, now maybe . But  that was  the Ronaldo of 10 years ago

Was that when he got injured in the semi-final and had to come off?

Pepe was still playing back then, so if it was I'll stick by my original point that when he went off and in the final Portugal were a better all-round team without him.
Ronaldo carried Portugal to that final. Got injured early in the final,  came off ,  and France still couldn't beat them

Eder scores the ET winner. A man who was  on loan at Swansea I believe. Never heard of again

I thought it was the semi-final he got injured in. I bow to your greater knowledge.

Will Ballycastle be able to maintain this league momentum or will they wilt when the others get their full compliments back?

Quote from: Armamike on May 19, 2026, 11:46:56 AMSlot is in a no win situation for this game whether he plays Salah or not.  Regardless of what Salah thinks, these posts show a selfish and nasty streak, with no regard for what's good for Liverpool.  He threw the dummy out with Klopp too, so maybe he should reflect on a pattern of behaviour.

Maybe Salah is reflecting the mood of most of the squad and knowing that he's leaving is in a position to do so.

If he's not one for tweeting much, then maybe he is doing it for the team.

Either way, it's not a good thing for Slot who will be glad to see the back of Salah, but Salah isn't the only one pissed at Slot, was Curtis Jones not also annoyed with some of his decisions?

It was in their hands after beating Arsenal then they mess up against Everton.
They might still win it but it's crazy to think everyone was saying Arsenal had bottled it but the same isn't being said about City.

No one cares, plastic club so they just don't really matter.

People care about  the 115 charges

When will that decision be made? If ever?

Premier league are hoping everyone forgets about them.

Everton lose 10 points for being up front and honest about their breaches.

Lawyer up to fúck and all will be OK

Maybe yis are just more well read than I am.

ANTI-SEMITE!!

you have to be persecuting Semites before you can be called an anti-semite.

Ashkenazi's aren't semites but you knew that anyway.

I was being tongue-in-cheek. I refer you to post #593.

I was indeed being pedantic with my comment about Ashkenazi's not being semites and Gallsman comment about it being "widely understood" is accepted at being anti jew, if being incorrect is probably the accepted understanding, yet the IHRA description of anti-semitism bundles any criticism of Israel as also being anti-semitic.

Those who felt the need to bundle the state of Israel as being an entirely Jewish entity and hence criticism is anti-semitic have done more harm to the Jewish people than they envisaged.

There are plenty of Jewish groups who support and attend the Pro Palestine marches in both London and NYC, so where do they stand on the anti-semitic scale?

Fitzgibbon have a burst appendix? He will be a big loss alright.

Clare will be going down to Cork with a new found optimism, but the caveat is how poor Tipp were all over!

Lohan bit the bullet, removed Cleary from the edge of the square, replaced him with McInerney and that worked to an extent.
Darragh Lohan also seemed to be playing much deeper, with Adam Hogan also improving from his last day out.
The other side of that is that Duggan,Tony Kelly and Shane O'Donnell didn't have their normal impact on the game whereas Stritch, Rynne and Galvin stepped up big time.
Ian Galvin had a great game, but hit some terrible wides when the game was still in the mix, that's always been his biggest weakness.

How these lads cope with Alan Connolly and Brian Hayes could well be the difference.

The difference John Conlon makes cannot be over stated.

His ability to read the game is unreal and the rest of the Clare defence raise their game with him in there.
Tipp had one, maybe two chances for goals, Quilligan was equal to them whereas they were conceding goals for fun prior to this.

A trip to the Lee for Clare with a place in the Munster final up for grabs.

Tipp look gone now.

Good win for the Dubs there.
I like them when go direct to big Hetherington and with the bigger Hayes along side him, they're a handful

Quote from: Genocide Organ on May 14, 2026, 11:07:05 AMTop teams in Munster are Cork and Limerick - full stop. I think Galway would be up to any of the rest of them. They could even be dark horses against the other two, but something tells me they'd disappoint.

I do share the KK fatigue.  That county never stops winning! They look to be having an off year(will we see King Henry as their next manager in the near future?).  However the Black Cats have nine lives.  I wouldn't expect it but would not be shocked if they retain top honours in Leinster.  They've such a psychological advantage over the other counties.  Regarding their imminent demise, the posters doth protest too loudly.

That's just it though, they have stopped winning, at most levels, bar their regular Leinster final victories. It's after that things go downhill for them. No guarantee Henry is a silver bullet to cure this malaise either.

Most counties would settle for a provincial title all the same.

If they don't get out of Leinster then Lyng is gone for sure, in fact I'd say he's gone anyway and TBH I can't see Shefflin getting it whilst Cody is still around.

Back to labour.
Has anyone considered the possibility that Burnham doesn't win the by election? They did really really badly there in the council elections last week. Different kettle of fish in a general of course with a potential future leader on the ballot, but he has a huge gap to close. It may be a bridge too far?
How do Makerfield voters feel about their constituency being used like this by the Burnham side of Labour?

could be why starmer isnt gonna block him from running this time round
