Portarlington very poor 47 minutes to score from play and 4 points in total says it all. Plenty of good teams left in the championship (Kilcoo,Glenn,Moycullen) that will test Crokes if they do go on and win Leinster.

Luke Loughlin is having a fantastic year.

Luke Loughlin is having a fantastic year.

Always had the talent , and was capable of excellent performances here and there. But has become a much better player this year. In the past it wouldn't have been unusual to see him taking on 15+ shots per game while playing for his club. Just shooting every time he got the ball. Knows how to use his teammates now.

The Downs will be underdogs, no doubt. And it could end up a bit like Portarlington (who are way better than they looked last night). But Crokes have lost Leinster Finals before while heavy favourites.

Allowing Ratoth back into the game twice could be their downfall if the get that opportunity over Kilmacud, you need to hammer home your lead and push on

On the other hand a tight match is priceless experience. Plus the  Downs have momentum.

Is your man from Kilmacud going to be forced to play hurling and football finals on same day? Poor form that.

Eire90

does gaa have any rules about how many games you can play in a day.

The footballers are not out this weekend, and while Kilmacud should give Ballyhale a game, I think that will be the end of it

It's a double header in Croke Park on Sunday. Hurling 2.30 and football 4.30

Makes a mockery of the dual club thing tbh. Would there be many playing both for Kilmacud?

I know in Ulster S'Neill seemed to be well accommodated

One player but a decent player for both teams, The thing here is to ensure larger turn outs for Croke, the games should be played in other grounds. Stupid

Blowitupref

Looking like a routine Leinster final win for Kilmacud Crokes as they lead 1-9 to 0-1 at half time. The Downs looked decent the last day but this a major step up to what they faced thus far.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Brian Sheehy is only dual players for Crokes senior football and hurling.  He is sub for footballers and is usually brought off the bench.

Was the same with Portarlington. They made a good team look terrible.
