I see the game is defintely Casement next Wednesday night.

Gives Armagh an aded boost that the Cross boys are at their disposal, but do you upset the continuity of a winning team?  Hanratty is the most obvious candidate to come in to fill the position left by T Kernan, although P Kernan could easily be slotted in at corner back instead of Finnegan (who was our only weaklink IMO the last day).   I would suspect that O'Neill's position is the one most under pressure from the possible return of McKenna.

Noticed the Armagh v Derry game absent from the listed games on Aertel for this weekend, I take it it has been postponed?  Good news if this is the case giving Armagh the chance to get the Cross boys in for the following weekend.

Monaghan v Fermanagh goes ahead this weekend.

Any update on JP Donnellys injury
I was talking to his brother earlier and he reckoned it was the cruciate, although there were more tests to be done.  Basically a season wrecker by the sounds of it.

Encouraging second half when we actually put some moves together, we won today pretty much without a functioning HF line who were non-existent.  Another good performance from big Toner, if he was a bit more mobile he'd be a championship starter. McDonnell was the difference today, a subime performance, good games also from McGrane and Lavery.  I thought Down looked pretty decent at times. Finnian Mo isn't good enough at this level and I wouldn't be persisting with young McCreesh either, Vernon should have been brought into the HB line but that looks like it's not going to happen (although he did contribute fairly well today when introduced at CHF).  JP looked like he got a bad injury.

Armagh were far superior than the 1-8 to 0-9 scoreline indicates.  Armagh hit the bar with a goal at their mercy and another goalmouth schmozzle could have easily yielded another goal, plus we missed a fair amount of point chances, although to be fair Tyrone missed their fair share.  I thought Tyrone were pretty mediocre.  Armagh were superior nearly all over the field and all except the number 23, who I think was finnegan from Cross-who was skinned, played well.  Special mentions have to go to Kevin O'Rourke who i thought was the best player on the field, excellent performances also from Ferris, Lavery, McClelland and K Toner who was a collosus at FB (and pretty much wherever he played). It was a team performance and no one let us down.

Special mention for Tony Kernan who was carried off with what looked like a leg/ankle break, he had been playing well and was Armagh's main threat until carried off in the first half.

We will certainly take all the stopping now considering the talent that still has to come in, but level heads are needed as you could be dumped on yer hole very quickly by Derry.

As for Tyrone only Mulgrew and the Number 7 really featured prominently

Armagh v Tyrone; Sunday 3.30 in Davitt Park

Will the Cross boys be available to play? Hanratty, Paul Kernan, Tony Kernan & David McKenna should start if available. Can't see us winning without the four of them.

Regarding Dyas,I thought it was telling that he wasn't able to hold down a place on UUJ's first 15.  I don't see how at this point in time he would be fit for inter-county.

Quotewho in the county is considered better halfbacks than the lads that have been playing in these positions in the league so far? i personally thought that jp donnelly should have been given an extended run in the league to see how he would have done

Mainly Kevin Dyas(who to be fair, got the most of a game, but only due to injury) and Charlie Vernon.

Harte acted the w**ker in the first instance, the favour is just being returned; petty as fcuk, but hell slap it up him.

Happy to hear this for purely selfish reasons, 16 of us heading on a fishing trip the day before, stay over, get pissed up and head onto the game on the sunday, might have been tight all of us getting the tickets for Ballybofey (although I didn't know the capacity is up over 20K now).

Where have the Donegal league games been played then?

Some back slapping been done here. Glad it was a good day tho. Think it funny tho that some people who did ask why some of the harps players were going to other clubs have been called begrudgers. Surely this was a legitiate question. Rufus, in one of your posts you sound delirious - get a few tablets.

Is delirious another way of saying shitfaced?

Anti-Dromintee bias in general.

Only watched it on Tv and it was shocking.  I actually thought Lavery did pretty well and I think at the minute he's the best option to partner McGrane.  Charlie Vernon was the proverbial fish out of water at CHF (a position that I have never ever seen him play before), amazing that he hasn't been given a run in his natural position in the HB line, I suppose you have to give Joe the benefit of the doubt but it is strange.  In the early stages of the first half I was thinking that Marty O'Rourke was having the worst game I had ever seen him play, but he probably ended up our best player.  Losing faith rapidly in Finnian Moriarity.  Maybe the paranoia from the Dromintee boys isn't unfounded.

If Derry got their act together mentally they could be a serious team as they have a lot of class.  It could be a very short summer as I don't think we've a mission against Donegal and one unlucky tough draw in the qualifiers and we're screwed.

Ulster is going to be fierce hard as usual, if Armagh can get all their available players back(just the Cross ones left to comeback now) and training together they will take a lot of stopping.

Benny, i'm not convinced that the particular cross players available this year will make that big of an impression. Tony K is obviously the exception, being a reliable free taker but beyond that i think only hanratty will make an impact.
The main one you seem to have omitted is David McKenna in MF, a lot will be expected of him.  I think there is 5 or 6 boys to come in. MCKenna, Hanratty, Tony Kernan, Paul Kernan, another Hanratty (Kyle?).  I dont know how big of an impression they'll make but they'll probably be on the starting 15.
