This is daft, any club that's not doing an open draw is not doing in fairly, its very simple, put the names into a hat and if members don't put their names in then they are not involved. Tickets should be allocated fairly, and if not as a member you bring that up at the next agm, there is no reason why the body of the members wouldn't agree with it

It happens in every club.

When the county sees a bit of success then the membership numbers increase.

If you haven't time to be an active member of your club then you should be way down the pecking order for a ticket

Does indeed.

In fairness, in my own club, it couldn't be done fairer.  Every member who wants a ticket turns up and puts their name into a hat.  Active or not.

They are drawn out and that's it.

The Bleating Bennys of this world who just can't find the time to take anything to do with the running of the club ALWAYS manage to crawl out from under their rocks on this night.

It is the fairest way of doing it without stepping on toes as they are all members and without their paid up membership we'd struggle. Of course we all know of that person or 6 that are flat out doing stuff at the club or for the club but you have to have it just so.

Years ago we had a Sec that would have travelled the length of the country to get the club as many tickets as possible, 9 times out of 10 he'd have collected the required amount of tickets, they were handed out on a Thursday night before the All Ireland weekend, you'd have turned up not knowing for starters whether you were getting one! The tension was through the roof! When the envelope was handed over the table it was ripped open to see where your seats were!  Brilliant days.

The live draw we have now on the clubs facebook page is the best way and no complaints, no doubt the sponsors get theirs, that's fine.

If anything the Lori Meagher and Nicky Rackard hurling fans are the real losers having to pay extra into their respective finals.

Extra? The games would normally be a double or triple header with similar prices. No one, especially the  hurlers,  fans of hurling and managers of these counties will miss out by playing at Croke park, itís the pinnacle of any players ambition or dreams.

They looked good once they got going yesterday, easily favorites for it now

On paper Dublin are better, Kerry havenít even beaten anyone in championship, beat by Cork last year remember, Cork were a shambles yesterday, played 20 minutes of football and opened the gate for 50.

Dublin havenít got out of first gear either. The semis will be the test for all four contenders.

Good price now for Dublin, 11/8, theyíll beat Mayo, as they do and beat the other finalists

CDC in USA are now saying pcr tests are not able to distinguish between flu and covid .
Rahm the golfer is a weird case he has had covid has antibodies and is fully vaccinated but still tested positive for covid but is not sick and never was sick.
Strange people are not a little more curious about this

Youíll not get flu in the summer generally, you can still get it and not be sick but pass it on, Iíve you more cleverer than that
so is he testing positive for the flu or covid ?
Most policies have been based on test results over the last year if the tests are compromised then the policies  have  to be too.

So letís get your thoughts first.

Is covid real or just flu?

Is flu seasonal or all year round?

With limited travel globally why has Ďfluí become such a big spreader?

If itís flu then why not just use the same flu jab that has been used for years

Why are governments shooting themselves in the foot with restrictions and what do they get out of it?
I donít know what heís testing positive for
I think you could get flu at any time no ?
I didnít know it had
Governments are already  ramping up for a big flu season.
Letís see hospital numbers in uk in next few weeks

Iím guessing if we continue to sanitise we wonít have the big flu numbers, there are less flights also and less people traveling, thatís how flu comes in from different countries.

Numbers dropping in the uk, and for a country opened up thatís interesting, high percentage double jabbed and not getting sick

So you think flu is an all year thing and not seasonal? Interesting

Kane saga is dragging on and on - definitely not worth £160m

I see Lewandowski being touted as a target if Kane doesnt come.

At 32 we wouldnt get many top years out of him so it would be a stop gap

What age is Aguero? surely they are similar age

Highest net spend in Europe over last three seasons
Would need to be winning something soon youíd think

I see Juventus, Barca, Dortmund, Arsenal and Napoli on the top of those lists. They didnt win much either last year. Its the blend of players with the right manager that will use money wisely. Ole will be dumped if there is a poor start to the league or not in the top 4

Be interesting to see the uptake on the 'vaccination' passport for the bars and cafes in the south

Iíve just recovered from covid with symptoms being a sore throat and no taste and smell. Iíve had one jab and canít get double vaxd for 4 weeks. Is there an advantage of being double vaxxed now only that I can get one of them passports?

Why not get the second jab?

Should that not be a black card and a penalty under the new rules?

Do you mean the Cork player taken clean out of it with a body check in the first half? Def black card. Cork were running through Kerry down the left side. Had the ref correctly issued a black card Cork would prob have pushed their dominance hard up until half time and who knows?   The ref instead chose to bottle it in Killarney.

I was actually talking about the time in the second half when Clifford was clearly dragged back just outside the penalty box, and a free was given. Under these new rules surely that's a perfect example of a black card and penalty. Now, the game was long over at that point so it makes no difference, it's just another example of there being no consistency in how this rule is applied. And of course Dessie the gombeen has no notion of it either, as he called that " a perfect decision by the ref".

Missed parts of the first half so I can't remember the incident you're referring to, does sound like a similar case from that description.

Yes I thought that incident was a black card, not sure it was a penalty as there was plenty around him in fairness, he gave a yellow I think so possibly interpreted it as a foul as he tried to play ball?

As for the other one, he didnít see it and thatís the call of the linesman

Ask any spectators or players do they want attacking or defensive football and the answer will be attacking. Only ones who want defensive stuff is coaches looking to show who clever they r and frig the players and supporters. Jim has had his day and no longer in demand for county jobs

Ask any players do they want to win a championship, theyíll all say yes

Does it need to be one or the other? Some difference between a total of 6 points a game or 66!!! It dosent need to be a feast or a famine, does it? Surely an innovative coach would find the sweet spot between the two!

I agree it's easier on the eye, but something is definitely amiss. Games are becoming a shoot fest and I just cannot fathom why coaches leave gaps in defence that horses and carts can run through. It's not specific to any one county, everyone is at it!

What ever happened to marking your man? You mark your man when youíve no ball whether youíre a forward or back, allowing your opponent to run up the field to collect a pass freely lays squarely at the opponentís feet!

Now marking space and counterattacking seems to be the done thing, Iíve no problem using a sweeper system for periods to limit a better team, but with it Iím not going to win that game and all Iím doing is damaged limitations, managers teams are judged on results, not style

Funfair collapse at Carrickfergus. There's no chance I'd ever let my family get on a ride that's put up and down by casual workers every few weeks. One loose bolt and disaster

Itís the same company that have done it all over the island for years, passed it last week and said to daughter about the time it was rocking like mad, didnít think sheíd get off alive at the time
