Its early days but def looking more of a team than last year. New signings have made a difference and the fixtures have been very kind regarding the run we are on but progress seems to have been made. Playing Liverpool will be a huge challenge. Getting into top 4 the target.

General discussion / Prayers Badly Needed**
December 03, 2009, 01:54:23 PM
Hi everyone, some of you might remember that last year I put up a threadtitled 'Prayers badly needed' abouta friend of mine who had given birth very early (about 23 weeksi think) and I had askedeveryone topray formother and child, but after 2/3 weeks baby Miceal passed away.

What had been even more heartbreaking at the time was that they had awful bother conceiving and had been told that it was near impossible so to have conceived then lost baby Miceal seemed like the end of their world.

At the time I was really taken by the unbelievable messages of support and promises of prayers by so many people on here and this brings me to the point of this trip down memory lane-

My friend gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Monday, weighting just under 9 lbs.  Mother and child are doing great and My friend and her husband couldnt be happier. :) :) :D ;D

I have been waiting to share the good news wid you guys (and Girls) for months but didnt want to jinx it.

However I would ask yous all to say a prayer for anyone who is ever in a similar position to what she was last year, and ask God to send them hope.

Slan.

General discussion / Sky Box?
June 23, 2009, 03:14:30 PM
Does anyone know where you could get a sky box chipped for all channells? PM me

PS. this is a totally hypothetical question for research i am doing into entertainment costs and their impact on personal finance in the reccession. I would never in anyway suggest using a chipped sky box as this would be illegal and could have a negative impact on a small multi billion pound company like sky.  ;D ;D

PM me

Ulster Camogie: Press Release – By. Niamh Archibald (Ulster Camogie PRO)

Ulster Camogie hosted the 2009 Provincial Championship Finals launch on Friday evening at the finals venue at Pairc Esler Newry.  Mayor of Newry and Mourne District Colman Burns was present to help launch the Ulster Finals.

Mayor Burns said: "Ulster Council should be commended for their dedication to making the Ulster Final a festival of camogie which could be enjoyed by all the family.

"The hard-work that has gone in by all those involved should be commended, this will be the best final Ulster Camogie has witnessed. The teams, players and officials are lucky to be taking part in such a momentous occasion.

Catherine O'Hara Chairperson of Ulster Camogie said: "The GAA has to be congratulated for giving us the opportunity to create what we hope will be the finest Ulster Final. They have worked tirelessly to ensure that we have a pitch and date which we can build around. Danny Murphy and Tom Daly have to be thanked for giving us this unique opportunity, we hope with their continued support and help to make the Ulster Final an annual event which will be placed in every GAA calendar.

"It's now up to us, as an association, in a Province with a unique history to get behind our own sport and be visibly seen supporting the game we are so proud to be part of. It's about respecting  ourselves first.

On behalf of the Council Iwould like to wish all the finalists and officials  the best of luck. Pairc Esler on 4th July is where we should all be.

Two fabulous finals and the buzz that goes hand in hand with finals day is one not to be missed."

Also present at the Launch was Ulster Secretary Danny Murphy . The Provincial GAA Director spoke of the need to support Camogie. Danny Murphy stated that the time has come for Camogie to receive the respect and recognition it deserved saying: "for some time now the Camogie Association has been saying that it should get more respect. I'm a big believer that respect is not given but earned and you only have to look at what Ulster Camogie is trying to achieve with this Final to know that they are worthy of our respect."

The Ulster Finals will take place on the 4th July, with Tyrone facing Monaghan in the Junior Final, whilst neighbours Derry and Antrim will battle it out for the Senior title.

We are Orange we are white, we are f**king dynamite, la la la la, la la la la la

Again this is a 2002 song.

Rumour has it that this has been slightly altered to:

We are Orange we are white, we are a pile of f**king SH*TE, la la la la, la la la la la

But it may be only a Rumour   ;) ;)

Why was Mark Lynch not playing for Bannagher in the SFC on Monday night? Is he injured or was it a *star* game thus not allowing him to play?

No such thing as Star games in Derry, club games are much to important to all concerned. wasnt aware he hadnt been playing but you can take it he was injured as there is no way any player in Derry, or anywhere im sure, would miss a club championship game otherwise.

Eoin's a good man for a goal alright, it'll be interesting to see who's on him, I'd imagine Dessie will have Paddy again.

You mention Monaghan getting an absolute plastering against Armagh, what game was that? 2004? If so then it's completely different to now.

I don't think Dessie started on him last year as he was on the 40 ....  ::)

But after watching Dessie last week I think Monaghan have a problem there as even though the new rules are gone I think ref's are starting to look at the things Dessie Moen does off the ball more. :o :o
(Yeh, it's completely different now, Monaghan were like boys against men, McGrane and McGeeney etc.) But it's funny Monaghan have not changed that much I think.

About time, his main problem is he attemps to play UFC on a GAA pitch.

if you take Cross out the championship in Armagh is extremely competitive, with the other finalists changing constantly. Last year Cross were taken to the pin of their collar by a couple of teams and only a contentious decision disallowing a goal for the Harps prevented them toppling.

You are gauging the rest of Armagh by the fact that they cant beat Cross, BUT CROSS ARE PROBABLY THE GREATEST CLUB SIDE IN HISTORY!!

If the Armagh championship is so shit, how come in the last few years Cross have had their hardest games domestically and then cruise against the other county champions in Ulster?

sure if you take st galls and cargin out of antrim there championship would be more competitive but that will seriously lessen the quality and the same if you took cross out of armagh.

you say cross are the greatest club side in history, how many of this years team played in 97?so over the years there team has changed several times and still nobody put it up to them.so i think you mean to say they are the greatest club in history.

since 2000 there have been bellaghy, ballinderry, loup and st galls who have all won the ulster championship so cross have not cruised through ulster with ballinderry taking them to a replay last year.

they've cruised Ulster in the last 3 years. also there are still members of the team, hearty, mcconville, donaldson, mcentees, short etc who have been involved throughout.

teams like the Harps, Pearse Ogs, Dromintee would also compete in Ulster and would probably be in the shake up for any of the county titles. You use Antrim as your case study, the weakest county in Ulster. Division 4 sides from Armagh would compete in the Antrim div2 for God sake (no offence Antrim, its just the way it is)

there are also afew div 1 teams in Armagh that wouldnt compete in div 2 in derry and all of Armagh div 2 (apart from Harps) would struggle in Derry Div 3 (no offence Armagh, its just the way it is) :D ;)
