Great result to revive a campaign that was all but lost. Huge game in Hungary now. Fair play to anyone travelling to what they surely thought was a dead rubber. God knows what to expect now. Anything from the ridiculous to sublime.

Why TF did I have to read this. This is truly shocking. And another BS sentence with more BS "significant mitigating factors". I want to throw up. This absolute c**t will be prowling at large again before he's 30.

Absolutely correct Substandard.

FAO anyone reading this thread - this might be the most valuable thing you read on gaaboard this year.

Whatever answer it gives you, the AI will seem very confident in it.

If you challenge it, you could quickly find it saying "ah you got me there, it was all lies".

Independently verify any answer it gives you - otherwise you could find yourself in deep shit.
Latest South Park very funny with Randy and his weed farm. Uses AI to confirm all these great "business plans" he has and gets deep into the shit.

I thought at the time they should have gave Isak a wide berth especially with the price tag and after the way he engineered his exit. Defence was more a priority and Guehi would have been a great addition. That didn't happen and they looked like they could cope till next window before strengthening CD, but since Isak came in they've been a disaster for whatever reason, coincidence or not.
Squad looks way off balance. At this stage if Slot can steady the ship and towards end of season have them fine tuned and looking like they could mount a title challenge for the following season, it will be a very good season for them. With the money they've spent, they don't want to have buyer's remorse and be looking to overhaul the squad come summer. Or even searching a new manager.

Sunderland looked great last night. Very physical team but very athletic and can all play. City on a bit of a roll but that was a poor team they were playing today. Hope they come unstuck at some stage, preferably when January window closes after they've failed to strengthen.

10 games in, over a quarter of the way there!

Have to say, apart from Arsenal, extremely slow pace being set so far. Huge congestion in the middle of the table, with 4 points separating 2nd and 11th. Everyone has had a wobble apart from gunners. Bottom three at a crawl too. Managerial changes may come good and improve performances but looking like a low bar being set for survival. Wolves look goosed already. They've turned it around before with a change in the dugout but ETH being mentioned as replacement wouldn't be tempting you to back them for redemption.

Huge top 4 clashes this weekend. City v Liverpool and Arsenal away to the mighty Sunderland. Not too many would have picked them start of season. While well organised I think they'll struggle badly against the league leaders. City and Liverpool is a hard one to call. Don't know what tactics Slot will deploy but can see a high line being very badly exposed against this current direct ball Pep outfit. If Haaland gets released in behind them the way they've being doing of late it will be a long afternoon for the scousers. Either way it's good news for Arteta's men no matter what happens as at least one of them will be dropping points. They'll need to score against the black cats themselves of course, but I think they will. Might take a set piece, again, but that hardly matters.

Faulty was brilliant.

Not a fan of American comedy shows like Big Bang or Friends. Don't find them particularly funny. Loved always sunny in Philli. Boston Legal was great. South Park genius.

No doesn't. I'm sure Desmond is a pain in the hole. Wants his cake where Celtic are concerned but doesn't want to be spending too much of his champagne and caviar money on the club either. And I'm sure Rogers is a pain in the hole. Wants the moon and the stars but would be gone in a shot if any Celtic success leveraged him a deal with a big club down South. Truth lies probably somewhere in the middle but no use bemoaning not rubbing shoulders with Bayern when you can't get your team up for a game with Dundee or Kazak opposition.

They took lots of hidings too with Kyogo playing. Who knows what could have been if he was playing, doesn't necessarily translate they would have faired any better against Bayern. Could very well have been worse. They brought in Jota and Schlupp. Uninspiring maybe but Kyogo has hardly been inspiring since his move. People mightn't like the reality too much but the board are trying. Only for Slippy G they'd be going for what, 15 in a row. That's hardly not trying.

Very messy stuff. Very strong words from Desmond but football fans can be mobbish. If he felt people were at risk from physical assault and Rogers was stoking that anger with mistruths then fair enough. If he's talking shite and throwing the managers under the bus very poor form.

On the overall picture Celtic are by far the most successful team in Scotland in donkey's years. If that's under-invested try following a team that wins nothing. That's real support. They're going through a blip at the moment. I'm sure they'll sort it out but with the league they're in any investment will have a ceiling. Spending to compete in European big leagues is a pipe dream. They cannot afford to hold onto players of that calibre long term with their revenue. So they'll buy cast offs or young potential at affordable prices. Some will work out, some will be shite. And the ones that really work out will be sold. That's the job.

The poppy thing is just something that seems to have grown more legs over the years for whatever reason. If it was like that from the start fair enough but I don't think it has been. (In England / Scotland / Wales I mean)

I lived in England from 2004-2017 and it definitely got progressively worse as time went by. I wore a white poppy one year and got some totally disgusted looks

What's the white one for?
Same thing basically but all deaths including civilians.

Quote from: Look-Up! on October 27, 2025, 09:43:23 AMBit of context. MM's party represents about 20% of the vote and even at that I haven't heard too many dyed in the wool FFers express any great admiration for him. He's a wet dishcloth of a man. Turnout for the GE was what, 60%?

A vote on United Ireland, if it gets to us that is, would have a much larger turnout. I don't know what way people might vote, there are many things past and future will influence that vote, but it will be feck all influenced on what that clown of a man has said in the past, present or down the line.

It's not about his popularity or voting draw. It's his own direction of his party in leadership. To say he has been hostile to the nationalist community in the north is being polite. He has furthered FFs shift to the right. He has been vehemently opposed to ever entering govt with SF as he is worried about the left wing outlook they hold and that they have in relation to our economy. A shift in leader may soften this stance, it was notable in the last election that some FF back benchers were much more open to the opportunity of doing business with SF.
Depends who replaces him and who replaces them further down the line. We're a bit off a FF/SF coalition or a UI vote.

MM getting ousted could actually be a huge shot in the arm to FF as a party. Whoever else that "weakens" as a result would be on them. I'd like to see MM gone, not because I want to see a stronger FF, but because I want to see politicians with backbone and competence representing us, whether I voted for them or not.

Predicting what will make SF stronger or weaker is academic. They're an opposition party with no active part in governance. They might gain a few points here or there depending on public mood but until they actually get in and make some hard decisions and not make a balls of them, they'll continue as is. And whether they are thee party in future or whether they fall off will be entirely on their own competences. So I couldn't really care less who governs Ireland in the future whether it be FF, FG or SF or whatever other actors are involved as long as the politicians front and centre are competent, have backbone and are loyal to the Irish people.
