War chest inbound, Carrick massively deserves it.

A lot of talk about needing an experienced gaffer/proven world class candidate.

I can't understand how no-one has referenced the similarity between Carrick and Arteta and how giving someone a chance is just as valid as going after a name.

Major work needed across the squad and could take 3-4 years to get into the sort of position Arsenal are in, recruitment will be the biggest determining factor in outcomes, has his work cut out, another year out of Casemiro would be a good start

Last years Champs League was won in the Jan transfer window with that signing

But listen to the expert pundits they'll have you believe there's a dearth of players and you can't sign anyone decent in Jan - the opposite is true

In Beggan we trust

Spurs are gone, not even Tim Sherwood can save them now

But it would be funnier if they appointed a club legend for the last few games, like the time Shearer took Newcastle down, that truly was the stuff PL Golden Years is made of

Started all killer no filler, ended all filler no killer

Watched the whole of the Peaky Blinders series apart from the last 15mins, for the last half dozen episodes I was screaming get on with it, in the end I couldn't bear it any longer, shame it ended so tedious

Prediction: Southampton who are trying to secure a playoff place play a weakened team, just too much at stake for them in the hunt for promotion

If City win 9 straight they win the league, its possible but feels improbable
22/23 was badly thrown away, but ultimately it came down to squad depth if memory serves me

Quote from: Blowitupref on March 08, 2026, 07:15:50 PMDuring the mid to late 90s it was a ultra competitive league where a few winners got under 80 points including Arsenal under Wenger in season after with 78 points.

Only CL final Fergie really got comprehensively outplayed in was his last one in 2011 against Barcelona and that Barcelona team were arguably the strongest winner since the competition was rebranded to the Champions League.

If by ultra competitive you mean who could down the most larger then fair enough

It was overwhelmingly a league of journeymen, Italy was the best league by a mile and the top 3-4 in Spain were carrying a ton of top global talent

Fergies 96/97 vintage who won the league with 75 points and got knocked out of Europe by Dortmund would bet the pick of world football, holy ghost!

Fergie was comprehensively outplayed in the 4 CL finals he got to, but won 2 of them. Funny old game
